Could someone please advice me on the best portable Ipod speakers available now in 2010. I am looking for good quality volume without distortion, to be used in different rooms in my house, and for when I prepare barbecues with friends. I am looking for an international one, where power supply is compatible for both continents, America and Europe, and can charge at the same time ALL kind of series Ipods meanwhile being played. I have been told that Bose is the best, but I was wondering if, besides this brand, which can be the most expensive, I could find something similar in quality but more affordable. Thanks a lot.

Thats cruel. But true as you aren't going to get real quality out of any current iPod (I don't believe any of them output raw digital audio, so you are instead reliant on the not so good D-A converter, and the not so great analogue output circuitry which follows).

An iPod is no substitute for proper home audio equipment.

I understand that to get the best sound reproduction everything comes second-best to a hifi system. However I am in the market for portable Ipod speakers because I want to take them wherever I go, namely over to friends places and even when I go abroad on holiday.
There is a large selection of Ipod portable speakers on the market and advice on a good model for my requirements is what I'm after.
