Whoever says Alesha can't sing is deaf.

Alesha can sing, she just can't judge

Anyway, enough about Alesha, this thread is supposed to be about Rachel..........................

Are you mad?

She's had two records out, which had very good critical aclaims and in her day had a more successful pop career than Alesha does now.

I liked a lot of her records - she had some great material. But she always mimed rather than sang live for some reason, which was often picked up on. I thought she was tired of the music business and had left it to try other things, designing her own fashion label being one she mentioned. Anyway, she was my favourite celebrity on Strictly, so I wish her well in any new venture.

Prefer watching Rachel dance than sing if I'm honest

In her day?

The poor girl is only in her early thirties - you make her sound like Vera Lynn!!

I know many many more people would want to hear Vera than Rachel any day.

At least Vera has had a number 1 album.

I don't think that comment came across as witty or as clever as you intended it be.

Rachel has had number 1 singles and albums with S Club, so boo you.

True - Jo was the talented one though.

In the music industry, talent, although helpful, is irrelevant.

That explains why Rachel, clearly the 'eye candy' of S Club had a solo career and Jo didn't (CBB racism row aside).

If I have to be honest, I prefer Alesha's music to Rachel's (solo stuff), but personally I wouldn't buy either's records.

I will confess to having the Best of S Club stuffed somewhere at the bottom of the CD collection though

I've only ever hear this (the first) song by Rachel in this montage, but based on that, she's a better singer than many who have had very successful music careers.

SCD showed Rachel to be a nice person who worked hard and was a bit private/shy. She's trying to make a living like everyone else, so good luck to her.

Turned out I had heard other songs of Rachel's. She sounds good on recordings, but the only live singing I could find was about 6 1/2 minutes into this fly-on-the-wall TV show, when she was in the recording studio. At least it shows she can sing in a recording studio.

I've never seen this video before, I really like it

Can't wait for Rachel's solo stuff to leak.

I prefer Rachels solo songs as i was never that keen on S Club, i think i only really liked one of theirs.

I agree that Rachel didn't come across as having much personality on the SCD series, but I recently watched the Behind the Scenes of last years Strictly tour and I was amazed at the apparent difference in her - I don't know how the editors or whatever conspired to hide her personality for the entire 4 months!

Plus it had a great moment when Len let down Craig's inflatable mattress...

As for music, don't think Rachel has an amazing voice, but I'm sure some perfectly tolerable pop will result, hopefully with a good dancy video!
