I honestly can't remember that. How long did ITV give it to build an audience before moving it?

I thought Coronation Street is the second most watched programme on British TV after EastEnders for the majority of the time (obviously shows like X Factor, Doctor Who, Britain's Got Talent beat it but they're not on every week of the year - even if it might seem like it )

The films don't perform that brilliantly for ITV2 do they? Though I suppose in the 16-34 audience they might.

Cheap filler, and something which performs better than anything else in that slot presumably. Again, daytime viewing figures are well down on primetime, and even post ten o'clock news I believe (I'm just trying to think back to the time when we got daytime figures and their respective share).

EastEnders on BBC4. That'd be an interesting one.

Good night for BBC One, ITV1 and Five where the Adam Sandler films did very well as did Mulan. Channel 4 did poorly with X-Men but they'll do better next week with the premiere of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Tanking on Ice still tanking I see. Even Holly's astonishing presenting skills aren't enough to draw in the viewers.

A big loss for ITV indeed - they had to lose the lucrative ABC1 male-friendly F1 coverage to help pay for it!

Still, as an F1 fan, I'm not complaining......”

the football is up on last year so the FA will be not
and ITV got 4.1m for Aston Villa at 3.45pm versus 4.3m for BBC1 at 7.30pm, so we know that this myth about the popularity of BBC Sport is a Robbie inspired fantasy

Why not start publishing the ratings for a commercial break counting it as a "programme"?

At least its a single programme .......... not 15 programmes. Still if Robbie is upset maybe we had better get Louis Walsh in to read the rule book to him

Does anyone know what Pineapple Dance Studios got on Sunday for Sky1? I was oddly drawn into this show..

As for last night, poor for EastEnders considering it is Anniversary Week, was expecting it to beat Corrie. Poor also for Law and Order, despite BBC1 being down over 1m on last week, Law and Order didn't get much of a boost. Good for the live Olympics, Channel 4 did OK and Five broke 1m from 8pm to 10pm.

I am surprised EastEnders failed to top the day and increase it's rating from last week.

I thought L&O might finish a bit closer to 6m without Hustle. (it's been doing around 6.5m in officials)

Superb night for FIVE with the exception of the troublesome 6:25-8:00pm period. Se7en is a terrific film so not surprised to see it performed so well, certainly we had it on in this household. FIVE was probably the most watched channel towards the end.

Is that Paul Merton's highest ever rating? Bit of a drop for The Gadget Show though.

Another night of FIVE beating Ch4 there and another case of FIVE managing over 1 million from 8-12.30! Although not quite sure why The Gadget Show was considerably down. Although Paul Merton ended on a high benefiting from weaker competition.

No boost for L&O, despite no drama competition, although the share is up. Surprising really considering both Ch4 and BBC2's 9pm figures were very poor. But more strong figures for Corrie-watching both EE and Corrie last night it's shocking at how poor Corrie is atm compared to EE. Every single episode since Archie's murder in EE has been unmissable and I can see how it is considerably up on last year. Saying that the aftermath of Joe's disapparence is good, but it's the only thing keeping Corrie afloat atm imo.

The Lakes is doing really well in a tough slot. It hasnt gone below 4m once. Maybe that is what they need for Fridays at 8pm too.

The One Show is now a full 3m behind Emmerdale. I dont think it will be troubling the chart update team too much this week Robbie

I'm puzzled by the LACK of Olympics coverage on BBC2. Seems like a waste given the top $ the paid to secure the rights.

Me neither. It was a good show last night. Their app selection was a bit poor but apart from that I enjoyed it.

The bit about smartphones with Jon was pretty interesting.

Last night's episode was brilliant as well. A great start to the anniversary week.

How on earth Coronation Street is managing to get 10.6m tuning in to utter dross in beyond me. The British public amaze me.

It'll be interesting to see the figures for the BBC3 repeat.

The live ratings in the early hours are not the best:

Fri/Sat - Live Opening Ceremony - 0.2m (6.2%)
Sat/Sun - 0.5m (11.0%)
Sun/Mon - 0.4m (11.4%)

I don't know whether its me... but they look disappointing. The shares are not the greatest either for that timeslot... I would expected ~20/30% for something like that in the early hours live in that timeslot considering the small audiences available.

True it would be fine if the share was over 40% but seemingly 4.5 million other people found something better to watch

Don't see why people are surprised about L&O, 5.6m is what the last series ended on, and what the first two episodes of this series got, so there was no reason for it to be any higher, as why would people tune into a series that they haven't been watching for the last five weeks? I think that's good for it, actually. Paul Merton did well, but a poor night for BBC2 (after 9pm) and C4.

Also, Simon Cowell is apparently going to be on this series of Piers Morgan's Life Stories. Should be good for 5m+ if scheduled properly.

Well there was more drama in that hour and a half of Snowboard Cross than there's been in 25 years of EastEnders - and shame on the BBC that it's been four years since they last showed any - easily the best Winter sport around.

The new EE ident quite appropriate too - they've been going round in circles for years and marking 25 years by remarrying two couples and doing yet another "who killed who" plotline shows how far the soap has fallen within the last 10 years.

Agree you'd expect the shares to be higher - be interesting if anyone has the figures from 2002 to compare with when the games were in Salt Lake City. Also think putting them on BBC2 is stupid - if the overnight stuff was on BBC1 I reckon the ratings would be double that.

Not confirmed officially yet, but according to ariusuk over on the Broadcasting - FA Cup 5th Round Coverage Thread:

Quote:
“As I understand it, Stoke v Man City is on Tuesday on ITV1. But obviously that is subject to confirmation by the FA.”

All TV listing books will still show the FlopZone on in next Tuesday, but it looks like for today, next week and the week after, the FlopZone will be given an extended break.

Over 1m viewers freed up by Hustle / less of a need to record.

It's a crime procedural isn't it? Surely it's one of those shows you CAN dip in and out of. It's not Britain's answer to Lost.

Well yes, but still I wasn't expecting it to be much higher as if viewers hadn't seen any of the episodes then it would seem a little pointless to tune in for the last one. As I said earlier, 5.6m is what the last episode of series one got against similar competition last year. I see you're point about recording, but I think people probably still recorded it to watch slightly later so they could fast forward the ads, it's what we did.
