I wonder if Arsenal/Chelsea matches would do better on the BBC while Man/Liverpool matches do better on ITV.

Dont know why that would be so. Man Utd & Liverpool have more fans than Chelsea or Arsenal so why would the tv channel change things?

Looks like Damages is really tanking in the US:

A shame as its one of my favourite shows, guess this will be the last season.

Kind of interesting they didn't ask Alex Polizzi to front the spin-off although she has other duties so she may not have been available, I would have picked someone like Theo Paphitis who turned around several businesses, it's a wonder that Five haven't poached Mary Portas as she would of have been a good fit, apparently she is filming a third series of Queen of Shops although I thought she had defected to Channel 4.

No wonder, that was a VERY strong episode.

I don't even watch and I thought it was exciting.

They set up the live episode very well.

Will be interesting how Masterchef does tonight, I love the show but think 90 minutes is overkill especially as it's the same thing three times. I think high 4 to low 5 million is my prediction as it's against Corrie for half an hour but it could hit 6m if it holds onto the Eastenders audience.

I think it will perform similar to how it did on BBC Two with viewers dipping in and out depending on competition before increasing around the semifinals and Final.

The heaviest of the snow here seemed to coincide with the broadcast of tonight's EastEnders - which, by the way, I found to be a bit lacking. But maybe that's just me.

Does anyone follow C4 Sales closely? They haven't updated today, are they likely to catchup tomorrow or will it not be until Monday now?

Corrie just finished at 20:57:45, meaning that DS will include the full entirety of the broadcast - 20:30 to 21:00.

It was a very strong Hour episode
i think the faces and the 25th logo at the end was a nice touch too.

I wonder how well the episode did though?

I reckon 8m for Eastenders tonight then a nice fat 13m tomorrow.

I really can't see Emmerdale denting EastEnders - don't forget that it's EastEnders that has a 30 minute head start, not Emmerdale.

8m seems a bit on the low side.

Nobody cares about Emmerdale, and it started midway through. It's Em that'll be dented not the other way round.

And I think tomorrow night could go as high as 14m. There's a huge buzz around the live ep and I can see a lot of people who wouldn't normally watch tune in just to see who it was.

What a shame that they don't value quality drama and would rather watch some tacky reality show.

I've never watched it before but I am tonight, but after initially liking it I'm now finding it very repetitive and dull. They really should have either left it on BBC2 with the old scheduling or scheduled it better on BBC1. 90 minutes of the same thing three times in a row is awful scheduling. I can see it struggling to go much above 4m.

It's unusual but i agree with you
Emmerdale isn't that big of a soap anyway well not like the big 2 and it only ever beat EastEnders with massive hour-longs when EastEnders was going through a bad patch.

Reading people's messages on twitter there's loads of
people that don't usually watch having a guess who has killed archie and saying they might tune in

so who knows what might happen tommorow

Sadly I agree, even as a fan of the show but it works better in half hour chunks, one hour episodes are just about enough. BBC Two got the scheduling right with four half hour episodes followed by an hour episode although I still think their scheduling for Masterchef the Professional was shocking as it was clearly made for 5.15pm before being moved to primetime. It's clear that it's three half hour episodes merged into one episode due to the change of clothing by John and Gregg.

The show has a fanbase but I can't see it increasing by that much.

Ithink some new viewers might have tuned in tonight but i don't expect EastEnders to be that high tonight but it should be over 10million.

I guess Emmerdale and the football on five might have dented it a little bit and imean little

Have you see the betting for Archie's killer? Ben Mitchell is the favourite with all the bookies.

Yeah, BBC2's scheduling of the Professional series was appalling. I notice there aren't going to be any more 90 minute episodes, so it might do a bit better with 30 and 60 minute episodes. I've switched over now though as it was just too repetitive, although I may give a shorter episode another chance.

I wonder how they will do the final weeks as BBC Two used to have hour episodes on Wednesday and Thursdays so I would think BBC One will either have additional episodes for that week or worse case scenario, the Friday episode is 90 minutes.
