Even though this is the first regular series on BBC1, considering it's been in primetime on BBC2 for at least a couple of years it's ridiculous they still make the show as if it airs in nightly half-hour slots. It wouldn't be too difficult to tweak the format to suit two hour-long shows a week, probably scrapping the weekly final in the early stages and instead having the next round air over a couple of weeks later in the series.
Not a fan so don't know the ins and outs of the format, but surely 4-6 weeks of heats, 1-2 weeks of heat finals and then 2-4 weeks to wrap the series up to a conclusion would work well.

The series didn't go to primetime on a regular basis until Series 4, it started as an experiment in Series 3 for the finals and proved to be very popular.
Some shows make the transfer from BBC Two to BBC One with ease e.g. The Apprentice, WDYTYA and to an extent QI but Masterchef I'm not so sure as the format is repetitive with so many contestants, you can't root for your favourites till much later in the series.

Ahh, I thought the Ford Football Special was the Soccer Saturday show with Jeff Stelling etc. But of course that is sponsored by Gillette. I think I will still keep them all in the list because they are different programmes with different titles.

You should look around the web where loads of Eastenders fans are making cringing videos of their own version of duff duffs. Even the soap forum has been embarrassing of late regarding the shows 25th birthday cluttered with non-constrictive threads on the same subject.

Delighted to see BBC News giving due prominence on its bulletins last night and at breakfast to the live TV milestone tonight, ensuring equal treatment for EE after the publicity they gave to Corrie's live episode with Prince Charles 10 years ago.

Surely a "back-up" recorded version has been done just in case, and all the onward implications storylines have been filmed for weeks to come. Or is it not going to be mentioned now for several months??

I don't know how exactly it'll look, but I think the person confesses to someone else, but the remainder of the residents won't know for a few weeks at least.
Yesterday's overnight will give us a good clue of what tonight's episode could get.

I believe they're filming the dress rehearsal, so they will have filmed all the alternative endings.
Once they've revealed to the public and the cast who the killer is, they could, if they wanted, record a few little bits to slot into the episodes they've already recorded, like they've done in the past when they want to add in a topical reference.

The people of Walford don't know who the killer is for a number of weeks it's only the viewers that find out.

I think its all Bull Cr@p, Of course the cast know! They must have filmed up to March-May now, so the killer must have been talked about atleast once! I think they are saying the cast don't know just so when the cast are being interviewed they are not pressured by the press to leak the name.
