Blimey, that figure is considerably up on the overnights

The Oscars seem to manage it okay. In fact the last year's ceremony was fantastic and managed to even make the technical categories interesting.

The BAFTAs is not the Oscars though, and that's half the problem.

Was going to do a weekend round-up, but DS haven't updated with Friday's or Saturday's portion (exc soaps) and MG hasn't updated with Saturday's portion. Ahem...

Huge budget difference though. The Oscars have all the LIVE preformances, cute intro montage etc, with no expense spared.

I enjoyed last years BAFTAs, but switched onto this years, and I don't even know why but I was cringing. Not sure what was different? maybe last years was more exciting as Slumdog won alot and it was endearing to see Danny Boyle etc so excited. The noms this year are fairly dull.

ITV really has lost a fair few viewers year on year for its Sunday night line up. I thought Dancing on Ice would see an increase this week what with Sky1 moving away from the dance genre.

Countryfile and Antiques Roadshow doing superbly and seem to be gaining viewers slightly as the weeks go by. Thats the first time I can recall the latter hitting 7m of late. Countryfile's 6.5m is magnificent for the 6pm slot. I think thats where it works best, though it'll probably get moved back as the weeks tick by and Sundays get a little less packed.

Fantastic numbers for the Winter Olympics and good that Being Human was up on last week. Hopefully it'll get another bounce next week for the finale.

The Adam Sandler Season is doing quite well for Five and it's on for one more week although Adam Sandler has done a lot of movies that they could easily do another another week or so. Wonder if they'll do a Will Smith Season as they have enough movies to justify a season with him.

Not ratings related but multimedia wise interesting to see that with them releasing the first album this week (which went straight to number one), there were no new entries from the Glee cast in the singles chart, though 3 or 4 from previous weeks remain.


Disappointing for Dancing on Ice last night - maybe they should have gone for a name (Victoria Beckham had been rumoured) rather than someone actually with more credentials to judge than half the panel (Angela Rippon).

And looking forward see ITV2 are doing their incredibly annoying trick of splitting American Idol performance shows again to make way for that prostitute show and Belle du Jour on Thursday nights, meaning the two-hour show begins at 8pm and finishes at 11.30pm.

The highest amount of requests on iPlayer is 1.67m for Top Gear, but I don't think it'd get anywhere near that. I think the amount of requests would be a lot more than the normal 400,000 though.

Looking ahead to tonight, apart from Married, Single and Other, which really should get over 5m with poor competition, it'll be interesting to see how EastEnders does.

Given the Friday reach for EastEnders, noted above, I hope tonight's episode will be over 12m - although I fear it may go down to the normal 10m/10.5m level.

Desperate Housewives matched its all time low at 3.7. Grey's Anatomy also hit another all time low last Thursday, again with a 3.7 rating.

CBS must be delighted with the performance of Undercover Boss which is holding up pretty well and easily beat Desperate Housewives at 9pm.

Dancing on Ice is dire this year!

Been looking at the BARB ratings and noticed NCIS is doing really well on Five USA with 0.4m average with one episode getting 0.5m and you have to consider these are repeats of Season 1 rather than the latest season which is really good considering that Five have repeated it loads of times on Saturdays. I imagine that they'll eventually get digital rights to Seasons 2-5 so they can strip it Monday-Friday at 6 or 7pm.

Undercover Boss is doing really well and I imagine it will increase once the Olympics are finished, I can see remaining on Sundays with a new drama replacing Cold Case.

Any figures for EE: The Aftermath on BBC2 yesterday afternoon?

NCIS seems to be huge in every market it airs in, whether it be new episodes or even re-runs. This show is a valuable asset to Five and the strong multi-channel showings are testament to that fact.

The funny thing is it that it was only a modest hit when it first aired on CBS back in 2003 and FX aired it first for two years before Five picked up repeat rights to fill in a gap left by Charmed. I was impressed that a repeat of NCIS beat a new episode of NCIS but of course it was against Midsomer Murders.

I bet Five regret not getting NCIS: Los Angeles but it wouldn't surprise me if they bid aggressively for Season 2 and repeats of Season 1.

Not sure if this got reported but The Weakest Link special on Friday night got 2m for BBC3.

DOI isn't making very good figures this year is it.

Last year most of the series had over 9million for the performances and over 8million for the results.

Last year' series also built it's audience yet this series is loosing it's audience.

I see the BARB officials have listed the final of SYTYCD as two seperate programmes either side of the lottery draws, also included as a seperate show.

This allowed the final to get a 6m audience in the officials (for the second part) when it probably wouldn't have if it had been giving one figure for the whole show.

The Dancing on Ice/Wild at Heart combo seems to be going a little bit wrong this year. Do people still think the ice show should be split over two nights next year, or would light ent opposition knock the performance show's figures even lower?
