6.2m (28%) for Married Single Other last night.

Source: ITV Insider

Very good start, especially for a 'relationship drama'. Will be interesting to see how it fares next week against Five Days. If the rest of the series settles around 5-6m then I'm sure ITV will be delighted.

I'm glad, I thought it was quite good, as cheesy romcoms go. My flatmates loved it too.

Great numbers for EastEnders, good percentage share as well. Also good for Corrie and Emmerdale, Emmerdale's share in particular is very good.

Good start for Married Single Other, as rzt says above - ITV will be hoping it stays in the 5/6m range.

Apart from that, pretty poor elsewhere.

Good figures for Eastenders and dire for Panorama in the prime slot of 20:30. New Tricks repeats aren't getting getting big figures it seems. I still don't understand how Regional News can get the second highest rating of the day on BBC One.

Nothing special I guess, but interesting that 0.8 carries from 21:00 to 23:00 and some probably go onto the Winter Olympics.

Brilliant for Married Single Other. Haven't watched it but better give it a go on the ITV Player. Coronation Street holding up it's ratings well and The Lakes doing brilliantly against Eastenders.

Poor ratings from News onwards, luckily it has it's multi channels. Best to think of all their multi-channels as one big BBC News Freeview Multi-Screen Style channel.

Beating Channel 4 again, FIVE's doing well on paper but when you consider multi-channels then FIVE's not doing as good.
Thinking about it, if the UKTV tie up between BBCW and 4 ever happens, I could see UKTV taking up the Channel 5 slot with ITV moving to Channel 2 leaving Channel 3 to a 50:50 venture between SKY and RTL. But I am a dreamer... and I seem to be commenting on ratings for no reason whatsoever.

All the soaps did very well.

Am very pleased Married Single Other did well and people gave an ITV drama a chance for once. I really enjoyed it, and will be watching the rest of the series.

The lakes is still holding up strong. A little down but not really surprising with it up against EE which was higher than usual.

Excellent Ratings for EastEnders.

It would have been nice for the ratings to be over 12million but 11.4m is still an excellent figure.

I think that EastEnders's ratings will stay above 10 for the next couple of weeks.

Fantastic start for MSO. Fingers crossed that it doesn't do a 'Fixer' and start dropping from here on in.

Brilliant for EE as well, maintaining a considerable lead over Corrie.

Managed to grab hold of that figure, plus a few more:

BBC One
13:45 - Match of the Day Live: 1.9m (13.7%)

BBC Two
13:30 - EastEnders: 1.5m (11.1%)
16:00 - EastEnders Live: The Aftermath: 2.3m (13.7%)

ITV1
13:30 - FILM: Columbo Cries Wolf: 1.4m (10.2%)
15:45 - Agatha Christie's Poirot: 1.5m (8.6%)

The football won the slot, but not convincingly. Very good figure for the Aftermath repeat - will almost certainly go into BBC Two's top 30 for the week.

Look at the reach for it though:

- 4.30m [BBC3 first]
- 1.21m [BBC3 repeat]
- 0.50m* [other BBC3 repeats]
- 2.30m [BBC2 repeat]
==> TOTAL: 8.31 million!

DS have a different story for yesterday's soaps:

20:30 - Coronation Street: 10.7m (41.4%)
* 20:30 to 20:55 - 11.46m (43.9%)
* 20:55 to 21:00 - 06.90m (28.9%)

Yeah, I bet though if you did 20:00 to 20:25 for EastEnders, it'd be higher than Corrie's rating from 20:30 to 20:55....

Brilliant debut figure for Married Single Other, they will be really pleased with that I'm sure.
Eastenders did v well too. Channel 4 had a very poor night. BBC2 seems to bomb post 9 O clock every Monday, after a v good 8-9 hour.

Promising start for Married, Single, Other - utilised a good slot and poor competition to win a substantial taster audience. If it can retain 5m+ next week then ITV could have a non-crime drama hit on their hands. Five Days might be a little tougher next week, but its a different genre and I don't expect it'll do more than a million better than the NT repeat.

Very standard night for BBC One besides the healthy EE numbers. I still reckon it'll be back behind Corrie by the end of the week though. New Tricks gets its usual 4m+ repeat figure.

Channel 4 and BBC2 (post-9pm) always seem to struggle on Monday nights. I expect Channel 4 were hoping for much more from Tower Block of Commons, especially considering the public hatred of politicians and the publicity it had before the launch. It's really failed quite badly for them.

Very wrong! 0/3, must do better next time. (but probably won't)

So, extremely promising opening numbers for M, S, O. Let's see how it fairs over the coming weeks and how many it manages to retain.

Very good for the ever reliable New Tricks repeat as well.

Five had a good Monday night as ever, but 6:25-8:00pm is bringing down their performance as a whole. I just wish they would do something about it.

Thanks. I'm guessing that omnibus figure is no higher than usual, not helped by it being on BBC2, plus of course the high figures on Friday - if you didn't see it live, not going to be the same seeing it recorded probably knowing the killer in advance.

The football figures showing what a waste of licence fee money paying for 10 Championship games were - apart from the first couple which IIRC were Saturday evening 5.15pm kick-offs they've struggled to top 2m, showing the money would be better spent elsewhere. Be interesting though to see the League Cup Final figure next week, which should easily be much higher.

Can anyone explain football rights to me? How come Five don't have the second leg of Liverpool's Europa League clash with Unirea Urziceni? I see it's on ESPN. What's that all about?

Glee down very slightly on last week's season high. It even beat its sister channel C4 this week.
Good to see Eastenders retaining some kind of a ratings lift last night although I hope moving Friday's episode to Wednesday later this week will not stop the added momentum.

Five get first pick in every round and decided that, given Liverpool kick off at 6pm and the coverage will be from Romanian telly so it'll be a bit rubbish, they'd rather cover Everton at home which kicks off at 8pm.

Second pick alternates between ESPN and ITV4. ESPN had second pick this time.

Yes, in a way it's perhaps surprising that no channel bothers with inoffensive half hour quizzes they can churn out by the truckload, every quiz now is either an hour long, involves celebrities or is clearly part of a continuous series. Which must make them a pain to schedule.

Not that late, but it used to be a real treat to get to stay up for Spitting Image or Smith and Jones, and I was very excited about growing up because I looked forward to getting the jokes on comedy shows parodying adult telly. What do today's kids get excited about staying up for?

You may be thinking of E4's Udderbelly which is a giant, purple, upside down cow with a stage in it at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Underbelly is an Australian crime drama.

I can see how you'd get mixed up, they're terribly similar.

Shocked at the ratings for Married, Single, Other though I didn't notice the show was given a newspaper marketing campaign. I wonder if stuff like Mr Eleven would have got similar ratings on a Monday night with a bit more promotion.

Skins, Eurotrash repeats, Match of the Day if you're that way inclined - I don't think it's declined that much for teenagers!

If anything, I think teenage telly has improved with E4 (and T4 at weekends) really making an effort with original drama and really good US imports. ITV has never made the effort, and still doesn't appeal to the 16-19 audience, apart from when it shows The X Factor and Harry Potter films.

I thought he meant stuff like The Word, Eurotrash etc
Upto a few years ago you still had The Friday Night Project and Charlotte Church Show and Balls of Steel, there's nothing really in that genre at the moment, growing up I used to Love sneaking a look at those sort of adulty things that were a bit risque that you weren't really supposed to watch. Big gap in the market for something like that.

Sorry just noticed you mentioned Eurotrash.
