Don't be a spoilsport. Some people like a good argument.

"I came here for a good argument"
"Oh, sorry, this is insults. Arguments are next door."

As expected, TV Burp looks set to start nearer 19:25 than 19:15.

Good ratings for NBC Winter Olympics...

I see the BBC have buried tonight's Lotto draws in the Dance finale. Interesting tactic from a ratings perspective, but as someone who just wants to watch the 30 second draw and get my numbers, I'm not too amused. However by keeping Dance in the PVR buffer and fast forwarding through it periodically I don't have to watch any of the actual show. (that'll teach 'em!)

Pretty poor showing by the BBC all round tonight with both Wipeout and Apollo on repeats, no In It to Win It and a massive gap between the two weekend news bulletins.

It's a scheduling catastrophe! If it were me, I'd have been tempted to run the France v Ireland game on BBC TWO and have something resembling normality and some attempt at structure in primetime on BBC ONE.

Crazy scheduling from ITV1. A 7.15 end for a programme featuring a football match that kicks off at 5.15.

It should be:
5.15 First half starts
6.00 Half time
6.15 Second half starts
7.00 Full time.

But....

TV games never start on time, (Don't you people have a bloody watch!)
There's stoppage time at the end of the first half, and then some more at the end of the second half.

So the games always finish 10 minutes late. And then you have to have a commercial break. Then post-match analysis.
Then another commercial break between the end of the programme and the start of the next.

So scheduling the programme 15 minutes after "full time" is just pratty.

Looks like the schedulers are having a who-can-be-the-most-annoying competition today.

Sky EPG has these times for ITV:

19:20 Harry Hill's TV Burp
19:50 Take Me Out
20:50 All Star Mr and Mrs
21:50 Benidorm

I can see TMO dipping a bit tonight because of the SYTYCD final, but I doubt that'll top 6m.

Still nothing for last night?

3m for the rights and then put it on BBC2. Might as well replace the bubble bath with petrol in the BBCs jacuzzi of cash.

I saw a hint in a paper today that the BBC are "looking" at a longer run for SYTYCD next year. If they are going to stick with the show, thats the route they have to take imo.

And all the comments are about the show as well. TV Burp is also trending in the UK section.

I can see it improving on last week, I really can. And really, I'd be shocked if it gets anything other than recommission.

In fact now that BARB is up to date, here are the official ratings for the first few shows:

02/01 - 3.87m (+ 250,000 on overnight rating)
09/01 - 4.72m (+ 260,000)
16/01 - 4.74m (+ 300,000)
23/01 - 4.92m (+ 310,000)
30/01 - 4.87m (+ 250,000)

Apart from the first episode, which had the horrible football lead-in, it has averaged 4.62m. Recommission? Aye.

It's been a solid performer for them. I definitely think it's earned a recommission.

The BBC going to single-handedly revive the economy by sending everybody out to the pub or the cinema or anywhere other than in front of the television.

And over 5m in the overnights last Saturday. Victory over the SYTYCD final tonight? If yes, the BBC may well opt against a longer run next year, opting instead for no run whatsoever.

What actually does "trending on Twitter" mean in terms of ratings-and indeed in terms of anything at all?

Jst flicking round and just caught Nigel Lythgoe talking about 'series 2' of SYTYCD. In the other episode I saw (the first) he was banging on about a second series too so I'll LOL if it gets axed.

Nothing at all. Just means a few people on twitter have mentioned it but some people think if its trending its going to have huge ratings.

nothing at all. it means that a few people who like to tell the world that they had cornflakes for breakfast or have just been to the toilet, have just posted some banal comment about the show.
