The way GeorgeS regularly posts with authority on the contents and dubious qualities of so many BBC shows, including that Aussie daytime rubbish that got virtually zero viewing figures, he must struggle to find time to watch anything on other channels...

Twaddle. Share percentages, as I see it, are generally used to justify underwhelming performances on the bare numbers. "Well, at least it got a 30% share, not to be sniffed at..."
If TOS is getting 4.5m, then starts getting 5m, then 5.5m, then 6m, then pushes 7m at times, then that's significant - even if the share percentages are (we are told) static-ish.

No doubt that age-old ITV tactic of over-running the start of a BBC1 show as a spoiler. (Which I'm quite sure will be in evidence this Friday night when the 7.36pm Corrie runs over the start of the live EE by a good 2-3 minutes...

)
The "TV clips" bit had, though, finished about a minute after the ad break and we were then treated to a bizarre laughter-free "puppet version" of X Factor which seemed to go on for about 10 mins. Not sure what all that was about, but it wasn't an entertainment show taking the piss out of TV clips, which Burp used to be in its heyday.
If they can't come up with enough material to fill the slot, then maybe it's time to move on, or rest the show for a bit.

Only £3m? Cheap as chips compared to what ITV overpays for its low-rating football packages...
As for tonight, I'm not really watching it but how padded out is SYTYCD tonight? They opened the phone lines after the show had been only 40 mins, and it's been all filler since. Really don't understand that one.
Goodness knows why ITV is repeating the toe-curlingly unfunny "siege" episode of Benidorm tonight. I thought they'd have wanted to keep that one on the shelf and not let it see the light of day again.
