Just had a lengthy email from friend in the US and he has had a rotten start to the year as well with family health problems. What is it about 2010? It's not been a good year so far for almost everyone I know!

I see that DWTS has cut the number of couples down to 11 for the next series. I hope that Strictly is taking note. It was far too long last year.

FT Purple is not my colour either but I will give them a try. I am going to a coffee morning in a couple of weeks to meet some of them and later I am going to lunch and the theatre later on. there are lots of events on the calendar, some sound interesting others not my thing. I have looked around and might be able to get a purple jacket from a discount catalogue and will knit myself a feathery purple scarf and thats it really.

Decided to take Flossy out to the fields today even though her friend Lily isnt going. I think Lily's owner has given up on it more or less which is a shame for Lily as she was enjoying having the free run. I have got OH to work on Flossy more than he was and he said she walked at the side of him last night on her last walk because he took her on the training lead rather than the extending flexi. As there are two of us walking her etc we have to 'sing from the same song sheet' or it is a waste of time. have read the Cesar Milan book and can agree with some of it but I am doubtful about some of the ideas he has.

Have been called back to breast screening clinic. Not really what I wanted. OH seemed to be a bit taken aback by it. I guess he takes me for granted these days.

Might have to help out and take another dog for walks with Flossy as her owner is having a kidney transplant. The dog is a small labrador and is apparently very well behaved so it might rub off a bit on Flossy.

Going to watch the Gang Show on Thursday. Not really sure why the granddaughters wanted us to go but OH seemed keen. He expected me to do the booking for it though as always.

Just as well really as my V+ box is almost full and I'm having to watch and delete immediately to make room. I really need to transfer a load of stuff onto disc.

Sorry to hear that EJ. I hope it all goes well and it's just a glitch. I'm still waiting for the results of my ultrasound.

Off to my brother's again today to sort out a few things. He's organised a visitor's parking permit for me so I can go during the week (parking is free at weekends).

I didnt sleep was awake on the hour every hour and I have10 days to wait yet. Will be shredded by then. I know it is likely to be a false alarm given the statistics but I have been there done that and got the T shirt dont want to do it again.

Have to go to opticians later to collect my new glasses finally. I had to chase them up myself, they didnt bother to ring me as promised. The glasses have taken 3 weeks due to the bungling effoerts of someone either at the shop or the place where they are made.

It is raining here and I have to take Flossy out at about 12 so that I can be back to go to opticians.

Seems like a doom and gloom day really.

Have you tried the Bach Rescue Remedy EJ? It does help sometimes. Must be very worrying having to wait so long to go back - shame they couldn't fit you in any earlier.

Didn't get to brother's because when I rang him he said he was expecting me tomorrow! I didn't argue as I know he gets all his dates mixed up these days - I'll just go tomorrow instead.

Well Im still in one piece but I never want to do that again. The MRI was horrible was glad my OH was there when I got out again. I will hear in a week.

I was watching the ice skating yesterday afternoon. Makes you realise just how bad the celebs are on DOI.

Hoping to finally get to my brother's today if he hasn't forgotten again! We had sun all day yesterday - it was wonderful. Back to grey again today but at least it's not raining - yet...

Star I hope your results are ok, waiting is always the worst bit. I have just found out that if I fill in a form at the hospital I can have a copy of everything that is sent to the doctor.

No results yet, I'm about to phone the doctor to see if they're in and make an appointment.

I wish I'd known about filling in a form at the hospital, then I could have had the results at the same time as the doc. I'll remember in future.

Saggy is fine, knee has healed up well and she's now actively looking for a job. She lurks but doesn't post very often as there isn't much happening in her life at the moment!

I see most of the participants in the Strictly tour are stuck on a plane in Belfast because of the snow. Fortunately they're not performing until tomorrow night in Newcastle so hopefully they can get there on time!!!

FT I was surprised about getting the info sent to me as well, this is what it says in the letter -
"If you would like to have copies of the correspondence we send to your GP regarding your assessment, then please ask for a form at the reception desk."
I would imagine all hospitals have the same arrangement its just we lesser mortals are not told about it generally.

My DIL is going with me, well actually she works at the hospital and says she can pick me up as she has a parking pass and she knows where the department I have to go to is ( it is separate from the mammogram unit) she doesnt mind taking the time off to go with me, much better than having a reluctant OH in tow.

My son cut off the top of his thumb with a stanley knife when he was laying some cabling ouch!!! His thumb is still painful but he is managing except for tying his shoelaces and washing up!

The weather has taken a turn for the worse as it is now sleeting. Even Flossy was not impressed. She asked to go outside then immediately changed her mind and came back in.

Am very tired didnt sleep too well last night. The Gas man was supposed to come between 12 and 2 and came at 11.30 so I wasnt quite up as Id slept so bad. Dont mind too much as its done now and I dont have to wait in but it can be a pain. Hate waiting for tradesmen etc as either they seem to come earlier than the time or right at the end of the given time. I cant win lol.

HRH is managing fine as it hasn't been that cold here. Just very very wet!

Hello everyone.

Well my cousin's funeral went well on Wednesday down in Beckenham. It was a nice service as normally with Chinese traditions it's straight to the graveside but this was a cremation and so unusually there was a service which was nice for the non-Chinese who were there.

Whilst I was down at the cemetery, I also laid some flowers on my parents' and my first SIL's graves. It was very muddy so I'll have to get my suit dry cleaned again which is annoying as I only picked it up that morning from them.

I also saw my doctor too that morning to get my cholesterol results from my blood test last week. All readings are fine and my cholesterol level is still steadily going down which I'm pleased with. My blood pressure was a bit higher than last time but once I explained to her what's been happening recently in my life and work she understood and also thinks I might be suffering from 'low-level' depression , but according to her said that was understandable but wants to see me in a month's time and to have another cholesterol test in 6 months time.

Work has picked up a bit mainly because the Sales team have been at an exhibition and I ended up working in Sales yesterday. I think the Boss now understands what they're going through as he ended having to take calls and do quotes yesterday

My SIL (brother's 2nd wife) is going back to hospital today for update on her cancer treatment, I think she will be ok, as it has been diagnosed at Level 1 which is good.

I'm going to see OH's aunt in hospital tomorrow afternoon, but things aren't looking good I'm afraid, she is still unconscious and is on life support. I do hope she makes a recovery of some form.

Will also be out at dinner for nephew's birthday in Chinatown in the evening. I haven't been there for ages. There will be stalls and dragon dances I believe down there on Sunday if anybody's interested. I won't be going - too touristy

EJ - I hope everything goes well when you go back to the clinic. Enjoy your dance lesson today if you're going. I bought the SCD step-by-step Book as it was reduced in Tesco. I've been trying to walk the steps around the living room and it seems to be working or at least I'm recognising some of the steps.

FT - do you know if Bach Rescue Remedy can be taken with blood pressure and cholesterol drugs prescribed by the doctor? I also hope your brother's ok when you visit him today. I might go and see Brendan again but I'll wait and see nearer the time.

Am very tired and a tad hungover. OH came last night and we ended up in the pub longer than intended but it was good fun.
Today we went in search of an Accordian (his Xmas pressie from me) we got one at last and he is now at home happy as larry playing with his new toy lol!!!!

We had snow during last night but it wasnt bad enough to affect the travel.

Had a good lesson, John is aware of my looming stressful appointment and the lesson was very lighthearted and funny. He did ask what on earth was going through my head when I was trying to do the chase in the chachacha. The answer had to be "not much"
Because the hospital appointment is next Friday he has swapped my lesson next week to Tuesday.

I see that Brendan is appearing at the Royal and Dearngate in Northampton, if I can get someone to go with me I will be going if I can.

Is the Bach RR herbal or homeopathy? Can't quite work it out from a quick google look. What BP and cholesterol drugs (I assume a statin)?

For example, St Johns wort, herbal, does interact with statins.

Had ordered a pair of winter gloves from a newspaper advert ages ago and finally they have turned up. They are fleecy lined and cosy, pity they took so long to get here.

The Gang Show (scouts and guides) we went to on Thursday night was really good. My grandaughters were both in it and seemed to be having great fun. The eldest is a ranger I think guessing from the uniform and the younger one is a guide and has the queens guide badge on her uniform as well as so many other badges the sleeves are covered. They had performances on Friday and two today afternoon and evening. I think it is so good for the kids to join in things like that instead of playing computer games and hanging around the streets.

Just watching Let's Dance for Sport Relief. I see it's being recorded in Ealing Film Studios again. TVA, Saggy and I all went last year - TVA and I went twice! However, I haven't bothered to apply for tickets this year because the organisation for audiences is extremely poor and you have to queue for hours in the freezing cold. Shame really as it was great fun last year when we finally got inside the building.

There has been a dusting of snow again here this morning. Not much but it is drizzling a bit now so it will soon disappear i guess. Cold though.

Will seem strange to be going to Beckenham on Tuesday this week, my routine all shot to pieces and no way of knowing until Friday if my lesson the week after will be in jeapody. This Tuesday has worked out ok as the lesson I have been changed to is Michale and Lauren's as Michael is away at present. after that I think it would get complicated as John is really busy.

Its bright and sunny here but Im sure very cold as there was frost everywhere when I looked out the window earlier.

EJ glad you enjoyed the gang show. How old are your granddaughters? I thought they were quite young but a ranger would be late teens and a guide 14 or 15. How is your youngest grandaughter? Is she school age yet?

FT I saw Dance for Sports Relief (mostly in fast forward) I have less patience for guff these days. Not impressed so far. I expect HRH could do better than some of the people who were on lol.
