Just had a phone call from son to say DiL's waters have broken so they are on their way in to hospital.

Not sure yet what will happen but we are set to go to their house and collect Alfie, their dog, and bring him to ours so he isnt left alone all night. Should be an interesting night then! Waiting for a phone call later to let us know if we are on for dog minding or not. Just had to rummage through the box of keys to find their front door key. OH will have to go and get him because he has to be lifted into the car he just wont jump in for some unknown reason though he travels well once he is in.

OH is working tomorrow so that will leave me with a bit of a problem if I still have Alfie as well as Flossy, cant see me being able to walk them both, still I will have to work that out if and when it comes to it.

the squirrel exterminator man is coming tomorrow as well so that should be fun

Baby Oliver arrived last night at 11.37pm he weighed 8lbs 4 oz.

In the end we didnt need to get Alfie, we waited for the signal to go and get him but baby decided to appear quickly so son went back home afterwards.

Congratulations EJ, your first grandson! Thank goodness he came quickly. Is your DiL still in hospital or have they sent her home yet?

Am multi tasking as usual FT so I dont know as yet. Will phone later
, waitingfor squirrel man to arrive.

Sorting washing into machine and having a look at starting to paint the ceiling in the lounge. We got pink to white paint for the ceiling so I can see where I have been. used it before and it does make painting ceilings a lot easier especially in this light as it is raining hard and very gloomy indoors.

Got two guys here at the moment replacing downstairs windows and back door. GSP is terrified and HRH is being completely blase about the whole thing but I don't suppose she can hear the drilling being deaf so she's just showing off like mad (as usual). GSP is hiding under the bookcase!

Morning

Congratulations EJ on your new Grandson, sounds like he will be a big lad, though maybe over 8lb is normal for a boy?
As ever Dancing on Ice was moving along nicely and everyone was behaving and then they had to go to Karen and erupt world war three between her and Jason. I dont think he was rude about Denise. I quite like him I think he's honest and seems to know what he's talking about. Karen needs to grow up!!

FT hope you have a good time and car is safe that doesnt sound like fun.

I am off to the hospital in a little while as I have to get a 24hr heart monitor because Ive been having palpitations.

Must go have a good day all.

Hope you are ok Star. I had one of those once a long time ago and I wasnt allowed to put my hands in water for the full 24 hours. Back then it apparently affected the monitor if you washed up or anything else like that.

I agree with you about Karen Barber, she always seems to have a fight with Jason, she is bit like a mother hen, all the couples are stars in her eyes. She should get over herself really.

Afternoon

The sun is out here for a change tho it was cold yesterday so will probably be the same today. I have to go to a dss New Deal thingy fairly soon. Have been before a while back and I hated it. They are so patronising. Supposed to help you back in to work but its more like force you back into work whether you like it or not !!

EJ thanks. I wasnt able to have a bath or shower last night but have to take the thing off at ten to1 so will be able to later on once Ive taken it all back to the hospital this afternoon. Its not very comfortable and the wires are a pain but I managed to sleep not too badly. When will you get to see Oliver?

Star we went for a quick visit to see Oliver last night. He is so cute and I got to hold him and have a cuddle. Oh took some photos.
Poor Alfie was feeling a bit left out of things I think. they are trying to include him but I think he was noticing that he was taking second place to the new 'thing' in the house. I should have remembered to take a few dog biscuits with me then he might have felt more included.

Hope your meetings with the New Deal people goes off ok.

I emailed the squirrel people as their operative never turned up - typical! I havent had a reply though which is really annoying me.

Never had a reply to my complaint with the train people, their 10 day response time is up tomorrow allowing for weekends, they will get another email if they dont respond.

The school in West Wickham which breed hooligans and lets them loose on the buses did reply but it was all excuses blaming a small minority etc and blaming the bus company for not putting on a special bus. Round here the schools use private bus companies to do school runs and keep the kids clear of the normal buses. At least the school responded in a weak kind of way but I will keep on to them if they fail to take action as they said they would.

Enjoyed the show last night. Craig and Ann were hilarious. Craig really goes for it with the dancing and Ann basically just stands there shifting from foot to foot. Excellent dancing from virtually everyone and it can only get better as the tour progresses. Loved the choreography for the group dances as well.

News re GSP. The Cats Protection people phoned to say they had a space for him and would do all the vet checks, blood tests, xrays etc. and find him a good home, so rather reluctantly I have taken him to them. He deserves a home where he's the only cat and doesn't have to put up with HRH all the time. They didn't get on but that might have been because he was an un-neutered tom. I said if they can't find him a nice home, I'll have him back and try and sort out their problems. He is a very good looking cat and very affectionate and if it wasn't for HRH, I'd have him like a shot.

I'm off to the Cats Protection shop today to volunteer my services as they are always short-staffed.

Afternoon

It seems to be very frosty at the moment are you lot getting frost where you are? The pavements were semi covered in a white layer yesterday.

I am still not well had sore throat in night and blocked nose. Have just gargled asprin to help. Fed up with it grrrrrr.

EJ are you off dancing today?

FT hope GSP is found a good home, but if not at least he has somewhere to go if need be. At least he will get a full health check which is good. Will they neuter him too?
Glad you enjoyed the show it sounds like fun. Wish AW would try a bi harder though must be frustrating for Craig.

:Star I have been dancing today. Got full marks for Foxtrot, we did that first and I was managing to remember all the steps so the next step was the shaping which I actually managed very well I was told.

Then we did tango and that was ok too. We did chachacha for a change and i remembered it and learned a new bit, we then tried the quickstep at the end of the lesson and I got through it fairly well even to the music.

The verdict was that it was the best I had ever danced.

It was really cold travelling, the trains were hot and getting off them into the cold made it feel worse.

i'm off out dancing tonight, yippee.
Show was fab last night, but i don't think i could go more than once, i think the scripting of it all would irritate me!
Getting colder here but that means its colder in the alps - has been snowing for 2-3 days and now forecast sun. Bit annoying as we wanted to go this week (skiing) but the hotel was full, so going next week. Fingers crossed there is some more snow this week!

Off to see Anton & Erin at the Barbican today. Looking forward to it even though it'll be difficult to get there as I believe the Barbican tube station is closed. Oh well, the walk will do me good.

House still a tip after they put the new windows and back door in. I have to put everything back but I'm sorting as I go so it's taking longer than I expected. House seems warmer already though and I've turned the heating down a couple of notches.

FT when we adour windows and doors done they were in and out in a couple of hours, took all the mess with them so we couldnt tell that they had even been there except for the different windows and doors fo course. It is warmer and since we had the patio door done as well it is a lot warmer.

The squirrel man has finally finished his job and he said all the bait had been taken so there must be dead squirrels somewhere. There is one in the trees in the garden which annoys Flossy but it is obviously not one of the ones inhabiting the loft or it would be dead.

I still have a spare ticket for Live and Unjudged at Milton Keynes Theatre on the 31st january if anyone wants to go.
If no one wants it I will have to drag OH along but he will not appreciate the show as he isnt into dancing.

They took four days EJ but mainly because the weather was bad and they did take all their rubbish away with them. Sadly it's all my rubbish that I have to clear up now!

Heard from the Cats Protection and GSP has been passed as clear of all disease and been neutered and vaccinated. They say his limp is due to spondylitis but I have my doubts but I suppose they know best. I have the weekend to think about whether to take him back or not otherwise he will be sent to Haslemere next week for rehoming. Why he can't be rehomed around here I don't know. Anyway, I have some serious thinking to do for the next couple of days.

Afternoon

Am fed up as am still lurgified cant get rid of sore throat or cough got dr next week if its still persisting. The sun is out and the seagulls were fighting with a lone merganser duck on the river, or rather the merganser was fighting them it was pretty feisty lol.

FT hope you can come to the right decision about GSP. Where is Haslemere is it far away?

EJ maybe if you keep taking OH to dancing things it will grow on him!! Hope you find the squirrels and get rid of them. Isnt it the squirrel man's job to do that?

Anton and Erin "Puttin on the Ritz" was awesome, and row B was the front row !!!

Anton acknowledged my presence at the very end - i was a bit worried he'd notice me, smile, miss a step and fall off the stage - they did get very close at times!

Brilliant whole day as then went to my fav meat restaurant and watched 127 - brillinant film!

Glad you enjoyed the show mimicole.

I am going to see Brendan's Live and Unjudged on the 31st but cant find anyone to use my spare ticket. I could drag OH along with me and expect him to be bored with the whole thing or I could go by myself and have an empty seat next to me.
Shame really no one seems to want it, a free ticket, front row of the circle, but hey, thats life I guess.

I've already seen the show EJ, otherwise I'd take you up on the offer.

Loved Anton & Erin's show on Saturday and front row seats were awesome (dreadful American word but it somehow sums up the whole thing!). Got kisses and cuddles from both of them afterwards too!

Spoke to Cats Protection this morning and GSP is coming back! Don't know what HRH is going to think about it, but he's been neutered, vaccinated and generally checked over and has a clean bill of health apart from his bad leg and back so we'll have to see.

Have you seen this year's show (Live and unjudged) I know you saw last years show and that was the one I missed due to the accident.
Hve seen the DVD that ws recorded on that eventful day so I hope it has been changed a bit.

GSP will be pleased to be back I expect.

I am struggling to find somewhere suitable for Flossy to run free. She is getting a bit better at coming back but the Farm is so muddy it is unbelievable and taking her over to my friends is a 10 mile journey each way which really isnt practical although it is better, much less muddy.
