Kate Nash - I Just Love You More
Free download from her website, and it is *nothing* like her last album.
Dating a member of The Cribs has worn off! Or maybe it's Bernard Butlers influence. Either way.... GUITARS! |

Cool, I'll download this when I get home.
I was a fan of her last album. I mean, it wasn't going to win awards for best lyrics, but it was fun and quirky. I remember watching an interview where she was saying how she dresses her songs up as childrens' stories but underneath there's some serious issues, like in "Mariella" there are hints at the little girl being autistic (poor social skills, reading the alphabet backwards with no mistakes, getting crosswords right, etc). Pretty clever. What I'd like to see on the next album is something a bit more like Regina Spektor, where everything isn't childish, but she still manages to be quirky, fun and keep her ambiguity. I listened to Kate's "Doo-Wah-Do" and loved it. |

This is really bad..... I LOVED her first album - A personal favourite, but this doesn't even have any real lyrics or anything. :|. I hoped for so much better.

It would have been good if it had good lyrics and a better vocalist. I quite like her, but it sounds like a demo.

It's one of those songs that is almost so bad that you don't know if it's actually good.
I think I like it but I'm not sure why. |

It's grown on me considerably. The first listen was a "WTF" moment, but I like it now.

I quite like the music. Could use some actual lyrics. It makes me pine for her days of singing, "Why you being a d*ckhead for? Stop being a d*ckhead"
But this isn't the single so hopefully something better will come out soon, I quite liked her last album and even though she was always compared to Lily, I prefered Kate. |

If you want to listen to her first single, there's a few live performances of it. Type in "Do Wah Doo". These are a few years old, so I imagine the end result will sound a bit different.

Urgh, she's back with even more of that cringe-inducing faux-chav Middle-England angst.
This song is effing awful. The last part is a gigantic WTF!?!?!? |

Couldn't get my fan-site download to work but loving this track and can't wait to hear the new version of 'Don't You Want To Share The Guilt' on the new album

That's excellent! Thought 'Made of Bricks' was a bit patchy (must give it another go, actually) but this is a *really* good noise! Looking forward to the rest of the new stuff; more of the same, please!

I'd liked Made of Bricks, but that song is just a lame Pixies rip off.

I Just Love You More reminds me a little bit of Play off her debut, y'know.

Not a big Kate Nash fan...but I Hate Seagulls is one of the sweetest songs I've heard in a long time, especially from 1:30 onwards. Makes me smile.

Not entirely awful review of recent live gig in The Gruaniad today. I like the new direction, I think its pointless when artists just keep repeating the same stuff
