would jack be allowed to use a mobile phone in hospital next to all that equipment?
You would think ronnie would have seen the missed call from jack on her phone before leaving the club

Glad someone has bumped up this thread, it,s about time. What I fiind totally unbelievable is that doctor/surgeon who is treating Jack, is now chasing after his girlfriend, turning up at the club dancing like an idiot. Would that really happen, dont think so? Also, the fact that Louise seems just to have forgotten about her Mum, and is living in a house full of people who are strangers to her, including Phil, but is acting as if she has been there all her life.

Phil going out to the chemist for something for Ben's rash. Now, we're led to the believe Ronnie closed the club because it was empty. If it's still early enough for a chemist to be open, and Jack still allowed visitors then surely it would be too quick to assume the club wouldn't attract a crowd!

Although, it shouldn't really surprise me - considering Patrick and Libby went to a florist at midnight about 6 weeks ago!

Rule 1: If you want to get pregnant, you can't *
Rule 2: If you don't want to get pregnant then you will

*if you want to get pregnant but your husband is in the closet and in love with your gay best mate then rule 2 applies

Residents of Albert Square don't ever claim benefits. No matter how dire their situation.

That,s correct! They just go around the shops, pub, marketetc., grovelling for a few hours work, as if they will be able to live on that. Even Heather who has just had her first baby at 42/43, but would rather leave him to work in a grotty launderette, when she would probably be better off financially just staying at home looking after him. I mean , she didn,t even take her maternity leave, she was back working when he was about a month old

The thing I find humorous about Eastenders is how education seems totally non-existent,even though qualifications are more vital than ever before. The professionals (doctors, lawyers) usually turn out to be maniacs,GCSE's are seen as major qualifications and people with degrees are usually nowhere to be seen.
For example,Bradley, with just A-levels,somehow climbed the corporate ladder overnight and was seen as one of the "geeks".I did laugh when Carol kept mentioning Billy going to college, like he was attending Oxford or Cambridge!

And are Alfie and Kat still in America? The thought of a barmaid and barman aqcuiring a US green card,in this day and age,is truly a suspension of reality.

Jack wetting the bed - surely someone that ill - not to mention paralyzed - would have had a catheter?

Where's Ronnie living and how is she paying any rent with apparently no job and no savings?

Lol! Exactly! And also from Monday's episode when he went through what looked like his main contacts list there was in order Ronnie, Roxy and then Sam...

Are you telling me a man with connections like Jack's wouldn't have a hundred other names between Ronnie Roxy and Sam?! How strange!

And surely a surgeon wouldn't be so unprofessional he would start chasing the ex-partner of one of his patients in his spare time?

But its not a benefit per se, its akin to receiving a wage from the local authority for fodtering a child.

I suppose you could refuse to accept it, but who in their right minds would?!?!

What happened to the Beales' dog? It had a daft name ... Sausage or something.

Where has Ian's hot tub gone?

Why didn't Max comment on how much of an improvement Jack had made over night? Especially with his speech (not that I'm really complaining - I'd rather Scott Maslen be allowed to deliver his lines, but it would have been better had EE not made his injuries so severe in the first place!!).

Ronnie is renting a flat from Ian. She worked quite a lot in between Sam's bail money fiasco and leaving the Vic, so I can believe she would have enough to just about get by at the moment. (Considering it seems she has always saved money in the hope of future business ventures.)

I have no answer for the first point though!

In terms of the doctor acting in an unethical manner - it does happen. There are very bent doctors out there. My mother came into contact with one, who was eventually arrested. I've heard stories of others from a family friend who has been a GP for over 20 years.

However, these people are very much in the minority and when watching on a soap it does feel incredibly contrived. Dr Steele has been written almost as a characture villain and so he does feel a bit unrealistic!

Was it just overnight? I assumed his improvement was related to the operation he'd had in between Max's visits??

I sort of got the impression it was over night - it was definitely the first time they had seen each other again because Jack said something like "she said no then" to Max - referring to him going to get Ronnie.

Totally agree with this - think they've gone a bit OTT!

I thought it would have been overnight, but then Masood said he had seen Syed and Christian 'last week'. I got confused with the timings after that.

Jack definitely had an operation in between episodes/Max's visits though. They mentioned it being scheduled for the next day in the "nil by mouth"scene with the nurse on Monday and then Ronnie and Jack confimed the operation had taken place during their first scene last night when Max had gone off to get coffee.

I thought the operation could explain his improvement.....but then surely he'd be groggy after an operation?

While Dot gently explained to Jack that he was paralised down his left side he wiggled his left thumb.

When arguing with Ronnie he shrugged both his shoulders, right and left.

I'm married to a GP an she finds it hilarious. The GMC are very hot on 'improper relationships' and it is a well known maxim within the profession that it is cheaper to kill patients rather than sleep with them/their relatives/close friends/visitors.

An oft repeated anecdote is that if Shipman had slept with one of his patients he would have been caught far sooner.

Neurosurgical anaesthesia is usually as light as possible, but he would definitely be a little more groggy than portrayed. He would definitely have a catheter in post op as he would have had intraoperative steroids to reduce swelling and hourly output measurements are performed.

Professional bit over......................

Jack did have a catheter, he mentioned it in last nights scene with Max, I'm assuming when Ronnie sat him up it came loose or someting.

When someone returns, they immediately adjust back never asking what happened to so and so.

When Amira quickly gave Chelsea her pregnancy test stick Chelsea put it in her pocket with her stick. I've never used a pregnancy stick but I would have thought that they were identical so Chelsea, without looking at the sticks, randomly gave Amira the not pregnant stick. It was pot luck which stick they each got ... bird brains!
