Samsung Tocco lite, does it do the basics.
1. Decent ringtone volume
2. Vibrate option 3. Good call quality 4. Good battery life Does the Samsung Tocco Lite perform all of the above to a good standard. thanks Paul. |

Cheers. The reason i ask is my last Samsung had loads of features, but i kept missing calls if it was in my jeans and a "semi" noisy environment. No point if you keep missing calls. |

The only thing I have found a bit fiddly with the Tocco Lite is when turning on the speaker when calling the automated top-up menus. You have to press the lock button after calling the top up number to display the screen that has the select speaker phone on then you have to press the lock button again to get the screen that allows you to bring up the keyboard to use the automated menus.
Really speaking it’s a procedure thing that you get use to but only topping up my phone once or twice a year I tend to forget that procedure. ![]() Apart from that this is the first touch screen phone I have ever used that responds to your touch as opposed to having to keep tapping the screen to make it do what you want. I brought mine and the OH’s Tocco about 6 month ago for £80 each ( price was £120 previously but has been going down and I think it can be found for even less now) and has never given any problems. I keep the phone in my pocket with the volume set at 5 out of a maximum of 7 for general everyday use and only use the vibrate mode when I am being discrete. ![]() I recharge my phone about once every 8 or 9 days, my OH charges her’s about once a week but she do’es talk more than me. ![]() My previous phone to this one was a Samsung G500 which was dirt cheap but kept dropping calls, breaking up and a big bug bare for me being able to hear the caller but they not being able to hear me. Buying this phone I was a bit weary of having the same problems and making myself look silly for buying the same manufactures phone again but I am glad to say it has preformed with no break up or dropped calls and 1st class person to person audio. Bearing in mind it’s only a WAP phone so very basic when using the internet. I have a Nokia 6100 on the 3 network and have found it to be a good phone but reading text on the small screen was painful for my old eye’s, no such problem with the Tocco Lite. |

It's fine for all that, although the battery life can run out fairly quickly depending on how you use your phone. If you're going to listen to a lot of music and what have you on it then you'll probably need to recharge it every 3 days or so, otherwise the battery can last for over a week.

Cheers, no music. All i want is a good phone that does the basics, with a qwerty keyboard.
I prefer the qwerty keyboard but my OH prefers using the standard press three times for “C”, two times for “E” etc, etc. |

When the phone is held up right it will display a normal phone keyboard lay-out, when it’s turned on it’s side it changes to a qwerty keyboard.

Thats my current phone, the Nokia 6100. Great little phone, but texting is becoming a pain, hence the reason i want a qwerty keyboard. I had another look in CPW today, and might be going for the Samsung S5560. Very similair to the Tocco lite.

had one since xmas. very nice phone (although the touch screen is far from brilliant to use imo)
it does vibrate, but not on the alarm (which used to wake me on the bus with my old nokia) recently switched to a tariff with unlimited web which is ok, but the rss reader doesn't seem to accept any feeds i try. any tips from other tocco users? |
