I didnt know this !
apparantly its punishable with either 6 months inside or 5000 fine?

I just read a daily mail article about Ashley Cole
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...onia-Wild.html

I know the reading of the daily mail is another debate and for whether anyone believes his version of the story ...

but seriously 6 months in jail or a 5000 fine for sending your O/H a few dirty pics that cant be a crime
do you think anyone has had this sentence or fine given to them?

It also probably flies in the face of your service providers terms and conditions.

That's sounds lame, but I imagine it only applies if you send pics to people who don't want to see them, which sort of makes sense. That would be equivalent to flashing someone.

oh yes, definatly in a situation like that but would the law really apply to 2 consenting adults in a relationship?

I think it probably relates more to taking photos of people naked without them knowing.

I was in a pub a couple of years ago and a guy bluetoothed everyone whose phones had bluetooth activated and searchable a picture of his knob. He really shouldn't have.

It would help if the Daily Mail actually said which law that came under. The only thing I can think of as to why it could be illegal for anyone is because someone could put the wrong phone number and accidentially send it to a child, even though you would assume that the person you'd send naughty pics to would be in your address book.

yeah that makes sense,

I cant see a person being prosecuted for sending their Hubby a filthy pic message

so are there rules on the content of text messages

Ive never realised that the content of messages sent between 2 consenting people could be illegal

If you send a picture to an adult and you are an adult, how does it break the law? I don't understand. Which law?

yes I cant imagine taking a pic and then going to send and typing a number in, you get it from your phone book, and check and then check again its not going to someone who wouldnt really appreciate the photo

Both. Quite a few women in the bar started loudly taking the piss.

that was my question, there is a sentence at the end of the DM article that states-

QUOTE "Sending indecent images over a phone is an offence punishable by up to six months' jail or a 5,000 fine."
