i got sea sick, You should have out the camera on a tripod or at least rest against something.

I like the Sat box interface, it is certainlly different and fast, you flew though the guide on that.

Yes

its a Technomate 1000 series made in the UK. it has a sharp chipset on board, very fast CPU. the software is superb. every conceivable feature going apart from MHEG, PIP and EPG options.

the box comes in two variants a Senestive version and a super version.

the former has a fast normal scan + stronger tuner (I only need 40% signal to gain a picture)

the latter has a weaker tuner but its blind scan option is super fast it can down a full satellite list in under 4 minutes, however the signal threshold goes up. i need at least 66% signal to get a pic.

the one i have is the 1500 sensetive. cam slot + card slot

I hear you say why haven't they made a senestive + fast blind scan? they have its the new 5000 series looks identical but the tuner threshold is at 45% and the blindscan is fast.

mine is locked onto Hotbird 13 East, the software and channel change is fast. there is no MHEG (mainly because hardly any providers use it except the big providers), and it supports DVB based EPG. so some channels have now and next some have nothing some have full 7 day.

These boxes are useful for locking onto both Freesat and Freesat from sky, only downside is the EPG is only now and next.

If anyone want's any further info regarding FTA satellite only then let me know, I'll give advice where I can.

Nice! far superior than the Sky rubbish, then again the box you have is a proper satellite than the mikey mouse system that Sky offer.

it's a solid box, never had any issues with it. Firmware update-able via serial cable so can go up or down firmware at will thus if a newer fw has issues, I can drop back. with the CI slot fitted I can drop a cam module into the box to give it more support in reading subscriptions if ever needed.

They do a Technomate 600/500/9100 those 3 run linux, and also use the ethernet port, this can get some IPTV stuff via plugins and can get the EPG info as well plus other important functions. due to the plugin system you can write you own if you are a programmer. example plugins are Mplayer (plays things off a USB key or via your network) and a youtube player.

No problem.

just thought it would be nice for the people to see it in action.

I can make more videos, if someone would like any, please request.

only thing I can't do is any premium TUTV content as I've stopped the sub. (whilst I sort out other things first, why pay for ESPN when you get it free?)
