BT Vision Multiroom - recordings disappear...
Hi All,
I've recently installed a second BT Vision box to a bedroom in my house. Since doing so all the recordings off the main box have jumped to the new, second one. I've trawled through the forums and can see that I'm no the only person this has happened to, and other people have mentioned that they have managed to fix it and return the recording to the original box, but nobody has actually said how they did this? Can anyone help please! Also thinking of installing and third into a second bedroom - can anyone tell me what is likely to happen when I do that or is it unpredicatble? Cheers, Jay |

have you had much luck getting the VOD to work with it ?
as Vision has no multiroom support, it'll be difficult to get a lot of help. |

yeh i got the on demand up straight away - i've not bothered with freeview though as were moving soon so no point drilling cables through etc..
for the OD i've used those powerline adapters - one in the second room into the main and LAN going into second box, and one in the main room going into the main with a LAN cable into the hub - came on first time round. |

They are still on the first box, the second box is playing them from it. If you want them back on the first box, power them down, unplug them both from the broadbandline, then plug the original box in to the broadband again, power it up, once it's "come back to life" you should find them back. However, they will "move" again as soon as you plug the other one in again and power it up.

So are they on the second box for good now and anytime I want to watch something in the main room I will need to power them oth down, do what you said, restart them again and the recordings will be on the first box until the second is plugged in?
As, now, when I record anything from the main box, it stores it straight to the recordings that 'appear' on the second box (the old recordings). There's not been anything saved onto the main box since the second was plugged in it's simply 'empty'. Is there no way of getting around it? Cheers for your help |

Although it looks as though the recordings are on the second box, if you disconnect the first box, you won't be able to play them as they are physically stored on the first box. To cut a long story short, when you plug the second box in, it registers as the BT Vision box for your account, so all your recording info, which is held at BT's end, not the box, goes to the second box, although they are on the first one. The boxes, in theory, could support multiroom, but it's never been rolled out. If you set a recording, both boxes should go into record mode, but the recording will only be on one box.
