One of my cats will eat anything (I really do mean anything!) but he's recently been diagnosed with diabetes so I'm having to be very careful with his diet now. The other one has a very sensitive stomach (he has FIV) and pukes up most foods. I changed both cats to Bozita cat food after someone on here recommended it to me for the diabetic cat and so far it's going down well and 'touch wood', no puking. It is quite expensive compared with supermarket food and I have to get it online, but with 2 sick cats on my hands, I'm quite happy to pay more if it helps.

All my cats prior to these two were fed Whiskas or supermarket food with no problems though.

michelle...glad to hear the Bozita is going down well. I don't actually think it does work out to be expensive as the high protein content ensures it fills the cat up for longer. Compared to the silly 'gourmet' style tins or even single pouches I think it offers really good value for money.
Cats are designed to eat meat, not cereals or vegetables....so any food should be judged on the quality of its ingredients rather than just the price.

How is the diabetic cat doing michelle?

I'll update on the diabetes thread Charliesugar to avoid de-railing this one. He's doing very well though, mostly.

lidls opticat has the same 4% meat as whiskas,
I tried my 2 on it but one of them wont eat it at all and the other licked the gravy off but didnt actually eat it.

but they do love their stick treats - they are like the webbox sticks

This 4% horrified me when I first saw it. What a horribly small amount of meat, isn't it?
I wish we could feed them better, but having said that, whatever we feed them they will eat once and then hate forever.

My dogs wolfed down Lidl's own dogfood. Is Lidl famous for poisoning pets now or is it just the supermarket police getting their smug faces on the forum again.

My two dogs survived quite happily on any brand I gave them - they were/are never fussy about what they ate. I still buy Aldi's dog food for my older dog - the puppy is still on iams puppy food but when she gets older I see no reason to also feed her on Aldi's dry dog food. I always fed them on the chicken and rice which they never turned their nose up to. Just because its from Aldi's doesn't mean it is poor quality. Don't be fooled by branding - you are paying over the odds for marketing and advertising and it doesn't mean to say it is the best. My eldest dog died a month ago at nearly 15 years of age and my current eldest dog is 13 years of age and runs around like a 5 year old so the food can't be that bad.

My black cat would refuse to eat it so I couldn't.

My last cat ate Aldi cat food for his whole life and made 15, so it can't be too bad.

My cats are very fussy eaters and will generally only eat Kite-Kat. However, I sometimes treat them with Aldi's 'Vitacat Chew Snacks' and they go into an absolute wild frenzy, literally knocking them from my hands and devouring them in seconds. They are then wired for several minutes. I would love to know what they put in them, I could do with some myself!!!

Actually, no. Good point. 60kg of Iams has just arrived by post, so I'll go and check.

In the past I've compared protein levels and not been unhappy with the cheap stuff.

Hm. exits to try and find the English ingredients list.

My Scottie dog is very fussy, he wont eat any of the leading brands, even turned his nose up at Ceasar!
But he loves the Aldi foil trays
I just put in some sardines and chicken a few times a week to jazz it up a bit.

One of our dogs is very fussy and will not eat of the food isn't to her liking. The younger one just loves food of all kinds.

My wife and I have always said though that we would eat Tesco's blue and white striped stuff for ourselves but wouldn't put blue and white striped food down to our dogs!!

Surely cats decide whether it is to their palate or not, regardless of price!!!!

We use Science Plan indoor dry food and its marvellous in that her poop doesnt smell half as bad, her coat is lovely and shiny and she never coughs up any hairballs. We've recently downgraded to Iams due to getting a second moggy and I must say, the poo smells worse and her coat doesnt have the same shine

I feed my gang of cats on Asda and Tesco complete food, mostly because of price (17 cats tend to eat a fair bit )but also because they like it.

They do like Lidl complete food but it gives them the runs, I'm guessing it's probably because they are so used to the others.

My dogs are quite picky and like to eat really smelly food so anythng with beef really. Or celery and carrots for Berry who's a very strange pooch!
