Anyone else think that Fred doesn't like Emily much?

Can't say as I blame him if he is fed up with her. She does nothing but whine.

Others have injuries too but make no bones about it.

She rather reminds me of Colleen last year who kept on and on about her injuries!

I don't think he dislikes her, I just think he's very competitive and used to skating with Melanie. Arguably he gets given some of the less able female skaters over the series bar Zarah. He seems a nice guy.

Might be just me, but their body language, or at least his, gives a lot away.”

I've noticed it too.

I am no big fan of Emily's I don't really rate her skills, but this week she seems to have been trying a bit harder. The trouble is, it certainly seemed as if Fred was irritated by her atitude to begin with. Understandable really, this is his livelihood and he can't be happy about a partner who doesn't take it seriously.

Ive noticed it too. She clearly fancies him, maybe that makes him uncomfortable.

From Fred on Twitter:
Quote:
“So proud of Em tonight! Thank you for all your kind messages. Made it thru a tough week, and so want to be back! Keep those votes comin' in”

From Mel:
Quote:
“Ya!! Mikey did great!!! So pleased Emily skated great too!!Thanks for all the love today!”

Obviously can't stand her!

He's hardly going to say so on Twitter!

I don't think Twitter is anymore reliable than the edited VT's.

Both can distort the true picture.

I tend to focus more on body language and the general vibe that the couples give off to form an opinion on how close they are. And Emily and Fred don't seem to have the strongest of bonds to me. That's not to say they dislike one another, but that they aren't quite as comfortable and in tune with each other as some of the other pairs.

I doubt he hates her, but I do think she tries his patience. I don't think he believes that she's trying as hard as she claims she is, and he struggles to hide it. She is immature, which isn't a crime, but she also seems very spoilt. She's very pretty and I bet she's got away with a hell of a lot over the years with a bit of pouting and eye-lash fluttering.

She's young and seems perfectly fit. There is no reason why she shouldn't be better than she is. I just don't think she's trying as hard as the others. She's maybe working harder than she's worked on anything in her life, but it feels like too little too late and the injury comes across as an excuse.

I might be wrong, and I know better than to trust the VTs absolutely, but I do trust Fred to respect a partner who is putting in the effort, and it looks like he's struggling.

She is a little immature & am not sure they will remain lifelong friends but I think they get on fine.

Pretty much sums up what I think, too.

Emily seems quite 'young' for 19 - more like a 16-year-old. I can't imagine that she and Fred have much in common other than being on DOI so it won't be as easy for them to form a bond as it is for other couples.

In the first couple of weeks she did seem to be slacking. In her first VT she even said that she had youth on her side so would be better than the others (or words to that effect), so probably didn't try too hard as she'd lulled herself into a false sense of security. She seems to have pulled her socks up since then, but is still underperforming which must be irritating for Fred. I'm sure the pros would all forgive a partner who tries their hardest but fails, rather than one who is only giving 80% effort.

She's 20.

And I get the impression he likes her a lot. But what do I know?I don't attend their training or hear their conversations off the ice.

I'm sure she can be hard work occasionally as she seems a bit giggly and to lack focus. I think she's a little immature for her age but I don't get this 'bratty' and 'petulance' that people seem to get from her VTs.

If Fred didn't think much of her he probably wouldn't say anything about her at all on twitter.

That makes her even more immature for her age, then.

And are you maybe projecting?

I agree. She's more like a mid teen than someone who is or is approaching 20. I also agree with those who say she is spoilt as well, too used to getting her own way that one.

She's not approaching 20, she is 20.

And none of you know her, she's been nothing but lovely in the past few weeks. She's been trying her best and hasn't moaned about her scores!

Ageism?

Well I'm 20 and I see nothing immature about her. Maybe that's how we are these days at 20? Immature brats!

That's very true you would think some people on here spend 24 hours with them.

There's absolutely nobody that I spend 24 hours a day with. Doesn't stop me being able to form an opinion of people, though. And it doesn't stop me being open-minded enough to change that opinion if their behaviour disproves it.

I know plenty of 20-year-olds who aren't.

I don't think he doesnt like her, but I DID get the impression that he thought perhaps she was making a fuss over nothing this week.

He gave her a couple of funny looks when they were practising.

She doesn't moan about her scores, but she does moan about most other things.

As for your accusation that we are being ageist...??!

She's got Robbins blood in her....she'll be taking the pee out of herself when she looks back on this in a few years. Can't imagine the Robbins clan letting her be too much of a princess.

Who on earth is voting for Emily - I can understand the good Doctor being the housewives favourite but I am appalled Emily seems to be well up in the public vote ahead of the likes of Danny and Kieron.

Time for her to go - she is just annoying.
