Poor lad looked gutted to be in the skate-off again. The judges don't like him and nor, it seems, do the public - I don't get it, he skates well and seems good natured. What can he do to win people over?

He is forgettable and not that great.

He is probably the weakest of the guys left as well.

I think he will be in the skate off again next week and possibly leave

I thought it should have been Sharron in the s-o.

Maybe it's Frankie's attitude people don't like?

The trouble is there is an abundence this year of fairly good male skaters

Gary Skates Better
Kieron has more personality
Mikey gets the votes

Leaving Danny with not a lot else

Going to be honest I can't warm to him and I'm not surprised that he was in the bottom. I don't think Frankie's comments helped.

Some one said he is the weakest. What show are they watching?. He should not be penalised for Frankie's outburst. He is way better than Emily, Sharron, and even Mikey.

But Emily and Mikey have more fans.

Even Sharron does it seems

I also think that:

Kieron skated better tonight
Mikey has more personality
Frankie is very 'Marmite', and some people vote based on the pro, not just the celeb.

Perhaps because he has come across as being cocky and a bit smug.

frankie's attitude doesn't help either

I think with Danny too he just seems to get OK scores and then OK comments.

Sharron and Emily both got eithjer bad scores or bad comments - the things that rile people up to vote.

I think Danny was in a bit of a forgettable position tonight

Ditto He does not come across as being cocky at all. Some one at the beginning said he was cocky and now people have jumped on the 'he's cocky' bandwaggon. Shame. He looked so dejected. Poor lamb

but as you said in your post 'the public don't like him'. so maybe he does come over a bit cocky to others.
I don't think he is a bad skater, just think he falls into the category of those that think they are better than they really are.

I don't think he has ever given the impression that he is better than he is. Emily is forgiven for her childish petulance, but Danny is accussed of being cocky and yet Danny is way better than Emily, Sharron and even Mikey to some extent IMHO. May be at the beginning he was over enthusiastic, but I can see he knows that the competition is getting harder.

I think the public seem to be voting for people they like, rather than the best skater. It's easy to do it when everyone's a very similar ability, but I think this series sometimes (I can't really remember what the other series were like?) I've noticed it personally a lot, with people like Emily, Hilary (until now), and Sharron (although saying that, she has improved a lot) being voted in over people like Gary, Kieron and Danny, possibly because Gary especially comes across as just 'nice', with nothing hugely outstanding in some of his performances, and I don't know about Danny. I don't think he's amazing, but I think he's trying, he seems less arrogant lately, and I think there are people who deserve to be in the skate-off more than him.

But hmm, I don't know. The people I think deserve to be in the skate-off more have definitely improved, so maybe that's why they're being voted in.

I voted for Emily because I preferred her routine to Dannys

I think Frankie feels he's better than he is, but he never gives than impression, he always seems to take the comments on board and accept them (bar offering Jason a hug, but TBH I think he was trying to diffuse the tension that was building in the room thanks to Jason's attitude).

He doesn't. Frankie is the cocky one IMO.

I really like Danny, I didn't think I would, but Frankie needs to wind her neck in.

Frankie's got a bit big for her boots imo ... she's been on the show for years, and she reckons it gives her more kudos! Don't think Danny comes over as cocky, but she most definitely does. I used to like her in past series, but don't like her one bit in this one...she's coming over as arrogant and self-important (and someone who can't take criticism).

Surprisingly I quite like Danny in this show, but I didnt like him when he was Bradley "Pickled Walnut Face" Walsh's son in Coronation St.

Personally I've never found Danny cocky, exuberant maybe to start with .. and although I have to admit that Sharron and Emily are improving, they are still behind him in terms of ability, plus they moan and complain a lot - which he doesn't. But then as somebody's said, there are quite a few quite good guys this year, so maybe that's why Danny misses out on votes.

His main problem is being one of several similar-ish men, but they all have more going for them in other ways. They are better skaters, or more charismatic or better looking. When he cracks jokes it comes across as slightly cocky, and I do agree that Frankie's attitude doesn't help him.
