BB Breakfast Show Planned
CloneClown

I don't know if anybody has noticed but there's news on the DS:BB section about a live programme being aired during breakfast time. Producers are looking to find different ways of waking up this year's housemates so that they can entertain us whilst we eat our cornflakes and fry ups lol. Sounds a brilliant idea. Nice one Big Brother. Here's the article.

------
Channel 4 will air live streaming from the new BB house at breakfast time, the Daily Star reports today.

The network has struggled in the ratings since The Big Breakfast was axed in 2001; its replacement - the now defunct RI:SE - could only muster respectable ratings when it featured exclusive BB coverage over the summer.

The newspaper says that producers would come up with ways of getting the contestants up early each morning to provide interesting viewing for the breakfast-time show.

Sound like a good idea. Fingers crossed!

yes-the thing was Ri:se was too early but even most mornings til lunch not much would happen apart from Cameron scratching his balls and Stephie cleaning the toilet .
I often wanted a big bargepole to give them a poke with-bit like in the zoo.
The BB losers coming in live was great and a good solid recap of the events in more depths than BBLB would be good.We all know how much is missed from the two highlights programmes.

Tasks like BTR wake up and say the rollerskating task in BB3 and the superhero in BB4 would help and vitally will tire them all out by 12 midnight when they will go to bed.Because of residents they cannot party after 11.00 like BB3 when everyone would get tanked up and party-party until the early hours.

looks to me as if they got this idea from Back to Reality

thats what they did every morning

a fire engind was used one morning and a choir and a number of other things .... problem was as the house guests were having such late nights they woke up and when the noise had gone just went back to bed until midday

I do hope not, these are housemates, not performing puppies.

Some of the best bits of BB have been late @ night, & the housemates should be free to sleep & wake up when they want.

Most of the best bits of BB over the years have been spontaneous, and unscripted. I think a BBam program would be quite good, but it should be a recap show, not a daily live event.

Really what we need is a programme that covered the same ground as RI:SE did with it's BB coverage. Last year I enjoyed the BB bits on RI:SE more than I did BBLB.

We really do need a combination of things to stress the HMs :

a) wakeup/hygiene calls

b) enforced routines/duties

b) arduous/menial tasks

c) personal penalties/rewards

mmmm ..... sounds like "conscription" !

and more coverage of their eventual physical and mental breakdowns .......

It's rumoured that Kate has turned down the opportunity to present the show, without the dead weight of Iain Lee, " breakfast television is so last year. "

Not surprise and think it's a good solution to fill the breakfast slot - but let it be streaming of them sleeping and waking up naturally, rather than early morning tasks. I for one would rather watch late-night streaming than try to catch stuff in the morning when I'm half asleep.

Maybe moving the hot water "Shower Hour" to 8am, with repeats of the main show and BBLB from 7am would be the best solution.

Its a fact that many of the best bits of BB2 (den, Elizabeth and Dean's rants, ppol, bathtime, Brians nightime antics and most of his best sketches) took place after 2400. In BB3 many of the best bits (Jade rants about Lee, Kate and Spencer, cooking on the poorside, Alex and Kate, Alex and Jade, Kate as Lynne, Kate as Alex, Kate puts on 5 pairs of trousers, van-time) all took place after most people went to bed, If the housemates are lively and want to sleep in, the simple answer is to rescreen the overnight stuff with some editing till they get up. It might be sacriledge but it would mean that people didn't miss the best bits and if they had to look at their overnight material more of it would get onto the edited shows instead of being ignored by the day shift editors. It would certainly be better than sleeping bodies. Personally I suspect a 7-11 house would be deadly dull. Of course if the housemates are dull anyway it won't help if they are asleep or awake.

forget any breakfast programmes, then we dont have to watch any biased comments fron inane presenters, let the housemates lie in and recover from late night antics because thats when the best veiwing is, if they got up early all they would do is lie and sunbathe all day wheres the acton in that, the breakfast programmes are all geared towards the 10 to 16 year olds , most people have gone to work by the time these programmes start.

I am in complete agreement with you on this. Whenever HM's in previous series have done early tasks (e.g. the meteor task in BB2) it has meant they have gone back to bed for most of the day. Then they stay up most of the night, then sleep most of the next day, a viscious circle. Why can't they do a BBLB's baby brother show that let's us know what has been going on overnight, for those without access to interactive new updates???

The best idea I've seen was the fire task in BB2. 24 hour viewing, plenty of bonding and a chance to get to know all the HMs equally at the start of the run.

More of that please. Then we dont need the filler shows.
