Hi, we were without our BT line for 23 days (only came back on yesterday) and when my mam phoned up she was only offered £11.57 compensation for the 3 weeks it was off.
Now I've heard about this Daily Rate Compensation scheme, but can anyone give me a bit more information about it? I have looked on the BT website, but tbh its not totally clear about what she can claim.
We were also advised (on the day it was fixed and by a BT engineeer) that BT should have provided a mobile phone to use, is this correct? And can I claim back the money I paid to buy a cheap mobile whilst the phone was off (and by cheap, it was £7.99 plus the compulsary £10 top up)?

There were some people who had their phone lines accidentally cut at the exchange in my town. All they got was 25p for three days without service.
Looking at other forums, back in the early 00's, BT used to pay out £10 per day but sadly that no longer seems the case.

Yes I had heard about the £10 deal, never really expected that much but did expect a little more than £11.57. Trying to get through now to get money back for my internet being off.

Check this terms and conditions annexe
http://www2.bt.com/static/i/btretail...dfs/bt1121.pdf

You will find it is not compensation but BT give you back the line rental you would of payed during the time of disconnection minus the 1st 3 days, it actually works out at around 52p a day.

23 days and I thought I had it bad with 10 days off
til today!
There does seem to be an inordinant amount of acccidental damage,or thieving to the old comms infrastructure in the last few years. Our lines have been "stolen" 4 times in the last 2 years down here in south essex.
