I suspect my cat is living a double life.

She went out last evening and, although it snowed all night and half the morning, there was no sign of her until 30 minutes ago, when she shouted to be let in.

Thing is, she was bone dry, and smells strangely.

I'm thinking she spent the night, and most of today, safely ensconced in someone else's house.

In other words, she's treating this place like a ruddy hotel.

sometimes one or other of my boys comes home smelling of fags with a whiff of sausage on his breath-I know my Polish neighbours let them in.

To be honest I am glad that if they are out when I am at work she looks out for them.

Many cats do this.

A friends brother had two cats, which disappeared quite frequently and stayed out for a day or so, then would come back as if they had been out for just a few minutes. Then one Christmas, they were invited to a new neighbours Christmas 'Do' along with other residents in the road, and during the course of the evening, the conversation of cats cropped up, where upon a woman produced a photo of two cats on their bed, who she said popped in ocassionally and stayed for a day or so....yep you've guessed it the two cats where the brothers

Cats have a way of living the 'Life of Riley' ...bless them

A lot of cats do this.

My mother in law had a cat that would climb out of her attic window and onto the roof. She'd walk along it and into someone else's attic window.

Most of the people on the street had that cat in their house at one time or another and some quite regularly.

my neighbour goes to bed quite early and if her cat Holly doesn't make it home before then she always jumps in through my window and settles down on my sofa for the night. My own cat just ignores her. He goes out for a long time himself and probably has several homes. My neighbour is aware of it and not bothered at all. At least she knows Holly isn't outdoors all night.

Was talking to my next door neighbour the other day, and I mentioned that I thought my cat was staying in other people's homes.

She explained what really happens.

Apparently, the neighbour next door to her, has some garden furniture, which they keep under a tarpaulin.

My cat leaves my house, nips through next door neighbour's garden, into next door but one neighbour's garden, ducks under the tarpaulin, and sleeps on one of the garden chairs.

Sneaky devil.
