I love the way she is winding Gordon up and standing up to him. I sympathised with her reasons for not wanting to produce her dish (the fatty bit, not what the media would say. She cannot claim to be worried about the media when she admitted having an affair with a married man), but she should have spoken up earlier while there was a small chance of retrieving it.

The thing that annoys me though is that they are supposed to be working in a team and regardless of her differences with Gordon, she should not be making it difficult for everyone else.

The honourable thing for her to do would be to walk, but of course we know that is not a word she is familiar with.

My guess is that she will stick it out whatever and get up GR's nose ! will the viewers be mischievous and keep her in tonight ? it is possible, and that would be even more chaos in the kitchen,we will just have to wait and see ?

Are people still watching this? *shakes head* There must be more to life....

And no, I don't mean Big Brother.

I'm still tuning in while Big Brother isn't on.

What can I say? I like to watch Gordon Ramsay lose it.

Angus has just said the bottom person in the voting is a surprise so I'm guessing it's not Edwina.

People are keeping her in because if she wasnt there (or maybe James) what would the show be? A bunch of very minor celebs training to be piss poor chefs, while very rich minor celebs get a £100 meal for free, oh and dont forget the fat opinionated critics getting loads of free dinners. Not exactly rivoting TV! If Edwina or James was gone there would be no one for Gordon to shout at, as everyone else is so far up his backside they wouldnt dare disagree with him. Glad Al went, may have tried hard but wasnt that entertaining!

Wasn't a surprise to me... did anyone else think Al might go?

Not this early ... I thought he would battle it out with Jen ...

strange voting going on, but this seems to be happening in reality tv,
the last pop idol is a typical example and i suppose it will happen in BB.

Of course the major decider on series two will be whether the cost of the voting produces a profit for ITV and the production company etc. 72 covers for 14 nights, not too mention the cost of setting it up in the first place is a major dint in the budget that will have to be recouped.
ITV don't give a fig (OK an exaggeration) about rating but if they make money then it will return, maybe with a different chef or some new twist. If it doesn't then it will sink without trace.

As for the voting, typical reality crappy situation. Was Edwina 2nd last on Wednesday, probably not, but to give the effect of tension Angus brings it down to Ed and Ab.

As for Al, deffo the best chef in there, but his attitude probably got on peeps nerves, and didn't have the fan base to keep him in.

Jen..... Scousers
Edwina...... Loonytoons, including my mother
James....... Hmm.
Matt.... thritysomething Brosettes.

Generalisations are what keeps this show going, and I'm quite enjoying it apart from the awful production standards and cheesy bits (no pun intended) on XP and the blatant coverup up of the live audio. How the hell does talking about food on Thursday (GR and the critics) constitute "legal issues" Whats the point if the audio is cut every 20 secs.

The voting will not even touch the cost of this production let alone produce a profit .....

The restaurant was designed by Markus Blee (Big Brother House also) and built from scratch ..... the BB house cost about £400,000 ..... the restaurant probably cost double, say £800,000

We know that Dwain forfeited his payment, which was £30k .... if all of the celebs were on the same, then there's £300,000

Production staff on the credits number about 50 ..... say £2000 each for a months work ..... £100,000

Then there are production managers, producers, catering, insurance, accountants, hire of equipment, security, advertising, etc, etc, .....

A thread contributor suggested that HK cost less than a drama series, which costs £700k ph ..... so if we assume £500k then it cost £7m .....

If ratings were down (which they were only 4/5m instead of 8/10m) then anticipated revenues from advertising and voting would be down ....

Also, the customers nick everything that's not nailed down (apparently) .....

My apologies, I have been away and have missed and haven't read some posts on this thread.

Can't be bothered with BB either this year, the whole lot seem more contrived than ever. First lot "normal" now scraping bottom of the barrel, or was that last year and this lot are untermench (speeling?)

As for HK, the premise is good, but the execution is confused, as has been mentioned between a "serious" attempt to train celebs to cook, and "reality". Angus isn't great either which lets some parts down badly.
The better bits are the kitchen and the banter in the quarters, and these should be capatalized on.
Mark D-S is a prat, Jordan is a one trick pony (altho I found the bit with her, Faith Brown and Sam Fox funny) and becoz of that Xtra Portions is not as entertaining as it should be.

YAHOO!!!! SHE'S GONE, GONE, GONE, GOOOONNNNEEEE!!!!!

I can't believe it, but yeah!!! EDWINA CURRIE HAS LEFT HELL'S KITCHEN.

As a webmaster, i will be proud to update the fact she is out of it. He he he he.

On the other hand, its going to be all about the food and service now,
unless James puts on a one-man show of impersations.
Although most of them are really good, the impersonation of being a chef
is not yet a mastered one.

Jen and James will be the final two. I'd like James to win but suspect it will be Jen, not really bothered they are both lovely.

I can see Jen going straight back to 'cooking' fish fingers and chicken nuggets 'cos that's what her man llikes.

As i have mentioned before I run my own personal poll, and the figures show that James will win, Jen second and Matt third, and I personally believe that this will be the order tomorrow(Sunday). Its been interesting to say the least.

Matt Goss doesn't even deserve to be in the last three, even though Al Murray acted like the teachers pet he was still a better cook than him.

We all laughed a lot at that prog, James is being either set up to win OR he is behind and they want more votes for him. (Cynic mode off)

This prog is still as much of a popularity contest than any other reality TV show, its sort of a shame that the cooking is an afterthought in it. Jamesplaying the fool and making me laugh doesn't hide the fact that he is bored by being there.

As for my winner, it should have been Al (on pure cookery) but James will probably be the winner and it wouldn't be a bad result for me.

Edwina suffered from Jade Goody disese.

The viewers wanted her in to laugh at, and I do mean at, but they know to make sure she doesn't win.

And, like Jade, she never made the final three!

My money is on Jen,James was kept in by the public for his foolhardy behaviour,Matt is nowhere near the running now.

The result of all this lot will that chunky chips will become famous,Edwina will write more books probably about love in a kitchen and GR's career will take on even more diversions for the future.

Although very witty and funny at times,Angus then goes all quiet and seems lost for words,he looked a bit uncomfortable when interviewing Edwina who seemed to turn the tables on him ! ah well that is politicians for you ?

One of the things I respected most about Matt was how honest he was, he was almost crying there, and that was genuine.
