some years ago there was a documentary about the
adelphi hotel i think thats in liverpool.it covered all aspects of running it including the kitchen and dining area and there was a chef who used to swear and throw things around, it was an excellent program and they should bring something like that back. |

Tonights episode was alot better, lots more kitchen footage. Clearly the big bald one (friend of Harry Hill) I've forgotten his name, will reach the end. Hes the most natural one there. Good stuff.

Have to agree with you, the potential to be really good was there but somehow, it seems to just miss being really good, not sure why!! one thing I do know is that Amanda Barrie is already annoying the hell out of me so maybe the programme is doing something right after all LOL Allie |

James? needs some serious one on one help otherwise he is going to crack in a big way.
Gordon ignores the presenter again, classic. Think they need to send Jordan in next time, she should get an answer out of him... maybe.. if shes lucky. |

Mark Durden-Smith after briefly interviewing Ramsay:
"He always has the man on the f*** button on....oh shit I just swore...bugger." Fabulous.

Well .....
It was OK ..... More of GR and the celebs and less of AD - granted ..... But because the cock-ups could be anticipated, it just wasn't very interesting ..... I just wonder why some of the celebs (Amanda, James, Dwain, Belinda) are there when they (apparently) can't perform the simplest kitchen tasks, even after training ..... The highlight for me was the appearance of the very elegant Stephanie Beacham and her equally elegant exit ..... |

James Dreyfuss- the sight of him last night!
I thought he's going to have a heart attack, poor thing. At trhe same time ,however, wiping his face dripping in sweat with his bare hands and then touching the food, yuk! Angela and Gordon should know better.

The highlight for me was the appearance of the very elegant Stephanie Beacham and her equally elegant exit ..... I thought show two was better than the first. Angus seemed a lot more relaxed. He'd obviously seen the viewing figures and was comforted by knowing he wasn't fronting a ratings disaster. But it all has a cynical inevitability to it. They put amateurs into a kitchen, don't show them where anything is, make them cook EVERYTHING on the night, and half the customers don't get anything. Remember, in Kitchen Nightmares, to HELP the situation, Ramsay suggested pre-preparing all the food, and then just heating it up on the night. That is what a REAL restaurant would have done, especially as they're not doing anything ALL DAY. They don't even have to serve lunches. The problem remains: If Amanda Barrie f*cks up, why should we care? This isn't her job. If a customer sends back a meal, who cares? They haven't PAID for it. The food's free. |

To be honest i thought last nights show was better but the other two chefs who were supposed to be helping were annoying and just rude. I'm suprised someone hasn't cracked already, it looks like there being treated like slaves. |

He has now been replaced by a man who I dislike almost above all others - can't say why, it's a feeling inside, I just dislike him with a passion, particularly the way he speaks, and that's Tommy Vance (a not-so-young DJ). You would have seen him last night in the red team, he was wearing dark glasses and looking totally gormless. I was beginning to wonder if he was actually alive. Now, why was he wearing dark glasses? Cool factor, or does he have sensitive eyes in which case the shades are a medical accessory? Katie. |

I said "I just wonder why some of the celebs (Amanda, James, Dwain, Belinda) are there when they (apparently) can't perform the simplest kitchen tasks, even after training ....." I'm thinking of Amanda with the bread and Belinda with the pasta ..... So even if the food were pre-prepared (as the pasta was), they would still cock it up ..... |

. I wonder if the gallery are telling him exactly how to react and when. Plus, I see Gordo is 'creative producer', whatever the hell that means. But it isn't Ramsay's rep on the line is it? It's a reality gameshow. All the customers know that. It isn't a cover-up. |

I'm wondering why certain celebs (and not just 1) can't even hack day one ..... My suspicion is that the bottom of the barrel has had to be scraped because those celebs with any sense (and cooking ability) have avoided this show because of the level of commitment and technical expertise required ..... But perhaps I'm wrong ..... Maybe it's all in the editing (very common with GR) ..... Over the next 10 days Amanda Barrie will reveal herself to be equal to a 3 *** Michelin chef ..... But I won't be watching by then ..... Last edited by KADEO2302 : 25-05-2004 at 11:27. |

You can just imagine the voice in the ear saying, 'Gordon we're cutting to the kitchen shout at someone for no reason now'. |

I did think that last nights was a much better show. Angus was still being a prize **** though - why oh why does he think he's funny ?
Matt Goss is a bit in the shadows isnt he ? Is he doing such a sterling job that he doesnt need to be praised / scolded etc ... Im looking forward to tonight, which is a sure sign that im hooked

I too think last night was an improvement on Sunday night, as I expected it to be. So am definitely looking forward to tonight, but what a dilemma, tonight's HK clashes with two programmes on E4 called Big Brother's Best Bits. Ooh, which to video and which to watch!!!

It's up against James Nesbitt, a D-Day doc and Mel Gibson tonight so I reckon it will lose nearly 2m tonight ..... How wrong I was ..... MediaGuardian : ITV1 was further boosted by the second instalment of reality show Hell's Kitchen. The celebrity cookery show - fronted by Angus Deayton and Gordon Ramsay - had 8.3 million viewers, just over a third of the audience and 1.3 million up on its debut on Sunday. Due to the Corrie factor ..... |

It's got a bigger test tonight though. The Vault and some new crappy show about rich girls sandwich it.

Friday should be interesting.
The first 'eviction' from 'Hells Kitchen' overlaps the start of BB5 on channel 4 and the 'Friends' final episode. who will win the ratings war?
