That's not strictly accurate.

You have to compare like with like. Figures for series one of IAC weren't that great to start with, but steadily built as the series went on - starting with around 6.5 and climaxing at around 9m.

HK, on the other hand, started off well and has fallen away, only to climb when sandwiched between two eps of Corrie. I don 't think the series has really worked - and its ratings are too fragile to convince ITV that it deserves a second series (IMO).

The two chefs helping in the kitchen use a fair amount of choice words as well.”

That really spoils the program for me. Surprised ITV allow it

Almost 16 million viewers tuned in to see Kerry McFadden crowned Queen of the Jungle last night (Monday), early ratings figures show.

The main evening programme has been regularly garnering audiences of over 10 million viewers,

At the last count 11 million British couch potatoes were peering through the satellite spyhole at other British couch potatoes sitting around in what is supposed to be steamy Australian rainforest.

I was spot on for the final and a million out on the daily total so quite accurate .....

It spoils it for me too. It is after the watershed so I suppose thats why it goes out.

The earlier show on ITV2 has chunks where the sound is turned down and the bad language does not go out then.

Every time Angus was presenting they were positioned behind him either sitting and 'talking' or standing and 'talking'. Wherever he was, so were they. Exhibitionists or an ITV bad idea??!!”

That sort of shot is common to all episodes - I particularly noted it 2 episodes - one with Paul Young (the singer) and another with Linda Lusardi - but it happens every night - whoever's in the bar is arranged around AD ...... I think it happened with Jade the Minger too .....

Fraid not mate.

You need to compare series ONE of I'm a Celeb with series ONE of Hell's Kitchen. Go back and check your figures.

I agree with you in principle though, ITV will be disappointed. And remember, it's put a considerable strain on Corrie. This week there are SEVEN episodes! If they carry on like that, the series will be flogged to death. (Still far superior to EastEnders tho).

Yeah ......

I thought about that, but you can't even compare the same program historically because there are so many variables ..... Jubilee Year, introduction of new technology and channels, weather, war, etc,etc .....

And with HK, it was supposed to come with the advantage of the very successful preceding Kitchen Nightmares (only 4 episodes) .....

IAC was spectacularly successful this year, mainly because of John Leyden, Jordan and Peter Andre ..... now some may have been able to forecast the latter's realtionship, but nobody could have forecast that the former Johnny Rotten was on his way to winning the show when he quit, amidst massive public interst .....

BTR, on the other hand, suffered from following IAC because viewers were "reality"'d out ....

There never will be a second series of BTR or HK, so we'll never know about those .....

So I think you have to compare current performance with estimated expectation which means calculating expected audience for a given time on a given channel on a given day .....

Now, I'm no expert in these matters, but the guys at MediaGuardian are and if their articles inform me that a propsed reality show on ITV1 at 2100 every night should draw at least 8m, I believe them and so, presumably, do the supporting advertisers ..... if, then, the audience varies between 4.5 and 8.5m, the assumption has to be that there's something wrong with the program or the programming .....

As you and others have pointed out, the additional episodes of Corrie were, at first, a welcome bonus and certainly helped HK but that must have been another cost burden .....

Ahh nothing like a bit of public justice, sniffing out the fake from 100 miles away, byebye Abi. Feel a tad sorry for her as she read her name on the card but I disliked her from day 1.

Exactly .....

I didn't feel sorry at all .....

As long as James is in we'll have some humour .....

As long as Matt is in we'll have sensitivity .....

As long as Edwina is in she'll wind up GR .....

I think it's a real shame Abi has gone, at least she was trying to do things, though am not at all sure about that choccy sauce dinner! Unlike Mrs C who doesn't seem to give a toss for anyone but herself.

I know, even Angus (host) comes out with classics too.

Hey c'mon, Abi wasn't that bad, much better than Edwina. However, you have to think like the people that voted for Edwina. It makes entertaining TV. If they kept Abi in, it would be like a little family restaurant going almost well. As we know Edwina can't cook for Toffee, and it winds people up, so......keep her in. And its driving Gordon doolally. This is the same mentality they used to select Big Brother 5 housemates.

But what a crawler it was one of Gordon's own signature dishes. Talk about arse licking, which even Gordon himself eluded to.

I cant believe that Abi went, and Edwina is still there. I cant stand Edwina, and seeing her every day is enough to put anyone off their food.

Abi might of been a bit arse licky (although not in the same league as the big comic guy), but at least she worked and she took some pride in what she did

Entertainment value. the Public have learned that voting out the ones who cause trouble , whilst probably moraly right, doesnt make good tv.

I dont like Edwina curry, but the show is interesting whilst she is there. as long as she doesnt win it (which she wont), then keep her in a while longer.

If Edwina leaves it's going to be boring, all those people trying to gain Gordon's approval - not good TV. Vote for her to stay!

Rest assured she will not let him get away with that one,he has gone too far this time.
The team moral is shattered and Ramsey's kitchen is in tatters.

Classic shocker, but you could tell he was still holding back. Normally happy to use the F word, he clearly wanted to say "You Fu**ed the Prime minister now you're trying to Fu** me from behind!"

I think he knows he crossed the line, and will be wary of the consequences. You don't get to be in the cabinet without getting a few senior people on your side. Gordon may find his card has been marked.

Having said that, she did deserve it, the dozy mare!

Good for Gordon. Fed up with EdWinger - i wish she'd just disappear up her own A***hole and do us all a favour.

It was funny at first to see her winding GR up, but now it's just painful - she has no idea and she doesn't give a sh1t about anyone else.

Sack the lazy stuck up bitch !!!
