Recreating fast food/take away meals at home
I have tried to recreate the chinese we have from the take out many times at home and whilst its nice its not the same, probably due to the lack of MSGs
so I don't do it very often. In 2008 there was an advert from KFC on the telly for the wrapstar (annoyingly I can only find the tex-mex version online) and we don't have KFCs very often but this looked nice so I thought I try a version. I use a wrap with a splodge of BBQ sauce in the middle with 3 cooked southern fried chicken goujons on top, a slice of the wrapped cheese and some lettuce, wrap it up star shaped and put it in the george grill for a few minutes to seal. This turned out to be awesome, my hubby would request it most days!! Although I don't do it as often any more it is still a household favourite. Do you have any recreations that have worked out well? Or not, but still want to share?

Could you post the recipe for your KFC-style creation, please?

There was a book on the Richard & Judy show (clearly, this is going back a little) that featured recipes from fast food places.
I can't find it online though unfortunately. |

I think my dad who lives in the US has a book that has recipes of dishes served by fast food and other restaurants (like Red Lobster and Applebee's). Not sure what it was called but I can find out.

I'm currently getting very close to matching my favourite Indian take-away at home. It's all about practise and requires patience. If you don't get it right first time keep at it!!
