Can anyone help me compile a list of one hit wonders from the eighties.
They need to be a band who probably only had one or two hits then generally dissapeared into the wilderness.

Start you off with 3

Men without Hats -Safety Dance
Wang Chung -Dance Hall days
Kissing the Pink-Last film

I've got a CD entitled One Hit Wonders but I think it's a mixture of 70's too but this should help.

Volume 1

Volume 2

Depends on the definition of what is a 'hit' - I've always said Top 40 but some may disagree.

Going by that proviso even Joyce Sims has had 5 hits- the first and best of which was the mighty 'All And All' in 1986.

Genuine one hit wonders:

Big Sound Authority- This House (Is Where Your Love Stands)
Cock Robin- The Promise You Made
Sly Fox- Let's Go All The Way
The Limit- Say Yeah
Modern Talking- Brother Louie
Opus- Live Is Life

Well Dead or Alive had four hits in 1985 and another 2 (at least in 1986/7). Their first hit was a cover of'Thats the way I like it' in 83/84.

Swing Out Sister had at least 3 more hits after Breakout as did Musical Youth.

Paul Hardcastle had another two hits one of which was called Dont Waste My Time and made the top 10 (I think)-so there I can remember him performing it on Emu's World
