take the tubes away

or put the hamsters old bedding into it's house when you clean it out

to be honest, the hamster's going to make it's nest where it feels secure

one of mine used to do this, i just kept cleaning the tube out and eventually she got the message or just gave up re-building it every night when it'd be left alone somewhere else

whats the problem with letting it sleep in the tubes she obviously feels safe and secure there, leave her to it

Not only that it might be sleeping in any place it feels comfortable and not too hot.

I have a Chipmunk that by night sleeps in a small nesting box by night, but by day will sleep in it's food dish.

The easiest way to tell if it's creating a nest is to see if it takes it's bedding there. If it doesn't then the chances are it's just resting in the tube, and it's sleeping where the bedding is but just just haven't noticed it.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, my hamsters used to sleep in various places including their wheel, food bowl and toilet tubes!

Mine are the same, they mostly sleep in their wheels though, then drive me mad by running in them along with all the bedding/food etc. they've dragged in there.
