Is Endemol complicit with her in misleading viewers? The BB official magazine tells us only that she is a "cinema team leader" (Eh?). (page 26). The official BB book describes Alison thus:

"[she] once was a holiday rep, and now works for a cinema complex...... she's worked in shops, bars, a computer company, and has even appeared as a presenter on a schools' television programme. "
(page 150)

The only clue we have, that actually she is a seasoned tv pro, is in the oh-how-quirky anecdote "has even...".

Turning to page 238 for a good laugh:
Alison has been evicted and is given back her mobile phone:

" there are loads of text messages waiting, mainly from friends saying, "What the hell are you doing on telly, Alison?"

as they pretend to be shocked.

I think that Alisongate is a further example of the way these Reality TV shows can be manipulated.

PS - Would her fellow BB3 contestants have treated her any differently had they known that Alison was a professional trained actress.

Thanks Charizard and Eddy,
Some very intersting points raised.
ENDEMOL COMPLICIT ?

Almost certainly.
We know that there were extensive Application Forms,
that there were several interviews,
and as Charizard said, the BB3 book,(for which they would have done their own research.)
One would expect Endemol to have carried out independent checks on the final candidates too.
For Alison (not to mention the other two Equity Members),
to have avoided detection,
of her true career and training,
would have required "A World Class Liar ",
and I don't think she is that.
That Endemol would not discover,
THREE EQUITY MEMBERS,
amongst it's final selection,
Beggars Belief.
Endemol must be complicit or totally incompetent.
They are not known for incompetence.
ALISON TREATED DIFFERENTLY BY OTHERS?
Who knows?
My guess is, that those who were keenest to win,
would have sensed the competition,
and gone for Alison's jugular.
What I am more sure of,
is the PUBLIC.
They would have seen,
all Alison's jolly japes, routines and jokes,
for what they were.
AN ACTRESS AUDITIONING.

I suspect, the other contestants would have seen that too,
and spurned Alison.
(As it was, she was crap, so it did not matter. )
JUST DON' T TELL ME SHE WASN' T CHEATING !!

I agree.

I think it's wrong to have a cast of professional actors in BB.

It makes it not much different from watching Eastenders.

And then what would be the point of having psychology analysis of fake personalities and fake behaviour? They'll need to replace Sandra Scott with Barry Norman.

But having some lessons and maybe bit parts does not a great actor make.
Presumably actors also have character and Alison was consistent inside the house and for two years after.
During BB3 Kate was accused of being an actor but if so she should get a Bafta for her 9 weeks 24/7 performance because it outguns Olivier if so.
She was just herself and has been for 2 years since.

I beg to differ. She has revealed in this interview, perhaps unintentionally, that she was not consistent to her true self inside the house. See above:

Wow. She's obviously a major hygiene freak.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Funny then why she joined in the hostility in the BB3 house towards Alex for being 'hygiene obsessed'... ?!

Care to explain?

This tells us that she is a weak person with no character. Will the real Alison please stand up? No thought not.

Was that why she was always falling over?
