You've bought one and now your asking if its any good. Surely thats what you do before you buy?

Best phone I've had so far. Easy to type with. Just upgraded the OS and switched on word suggestions, made it even easier to enter text - much better than my iPod Touch.

Found the browser it came with to be slow, I now use opera mini - much faster. Camera not great but I didn't get it for that and email is instant. Don't use apps much.

I like it and I can send pics to other BB users for free!

When it was released, it was one of the better Blackberry handsets. But was compared unfavourably with similar handsets from other manufacturers. (bulky size, smaller memory, firmware issues, camera etc)
Almost two years on and it looks very out of date.
I suppose whether it was a good purchase depends how much you paid for it.

I loved it. I've just changed to the bold 9700 though.

Best business smartphone ever.

Yes, it's big but that means it has the best keyboard ever seen on a mobile device. I have tried the new 9700 and it feels slightly cramped in comparison.

If I was being picky I would say the camera isn't that great, especially indoors, but most people who buy a BB don't buy it for the camera.

If I was looking for a smartphone for personal use then I might be tempted by the new Curve but for business use, the Bold is hard to beat.

thnkyou,

to be honest, i have a 3gs but dropped it and smashed the screen, ive sent it off to be repaired and started to use a brick of a nokia only to find how much i liked having a phone which i dont have to charge once a day... hence buying a blackberry.. Whats the battery life like?

The battery has the same capacity, but the 9000 eats more power. RIM quote a figure about a quarter less than the 9700. In my experience I would say the battery lasts a couple of days.

Yes, a couple of days of average use - but if you are out and about and burning 3G, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth heavily then you'll be lucky to get the day out. There are a couple of times I've been at a conference and have to go hunting for a charging point.
