Voice message puzzle.
Can anyone solve this puzzle? Whenever I try to leave a voice message on my friends phone I can't, instead I get the following message
"This persons phone is switched off, leave a text or try again later". My friend cannot understand it as he says other people can and do leave messages and until recently so could I. He is on Vodaphone and I'm Orange. I can leave voice messages on other peoples phone without issue. My friend is PAYGO and I'm on contract. |

I'd say he either has his voicemail service switched off altogether, or, if he's adamant he's had voicemails from other people since you started getting this problem, he has voicemail set to come on when his phone is engaged or out of coverage, etc, but not when it's switched off?

Good Afternoon Faust
I'm part of Vodafone's Web Relations team and would like to offer some help and advice. It's certainly strange that you are the only person unable to leave voicemail messages on your friends number. Voicemail can essentially be turned off, or on. it can't really tell the difference between the numbers of incoming calls, so it's not likely that you're number has been blocked from leaving messages. If you're friend is using a Samsung handset, they may have the facility to block a particular number form calling or texting, but from your post this is not what you're experiencing. This 'please try later' message can occur if you're out of signal, or the phone is switched off and you don't have voicemail turned on at all. I'd really recommend getting your friend to contact us so we can investigate this for you both. If you're friend would like us to take a closer look, ask them to contact me using the link below; please include MMM135 in the subject field so that the email comes directly through to my team. http://bit.ly/1h8KuG If you have any other questions we have our own Twitter page where we also provide support, follow us and we're on call whenever you have a question! http://twitter.com/vodafoneuk All the best, Helen Web Relations Team Vodafone UK |
