To help with the smell of cooking, not the good smells but the nasty ones I burn a Glade candle in the hall while I am cooking. I also do all the surfaces including the floor with Zoflora after frying or cooking anything smelly.

Put a teaspoon of tomato ketchup in lasagne ( along with the other stuff you normally put in )..It gives it a bit of a kick )
