This is a bit of a strange request, and a long shot, but does anyone remember a biscuit that came in a selection box like family circle or tea time in the late 70's/early 80's. It was the same size and shape as a custard cream, but was darker in colour and had rings on it. Maybe coffee flavour.

I don't think they were ever sold in a packet on their own, only in the variety box, but I remember them being really nice.

I remember it, but I dont think it was coffee, I think it was like a darker chocolate bourbon so it had the bitter notes of coffee

I think it was in either "Rover" or "Teatime" biscuit tins

Sounds like a bourbon cream except, I think you could buy them in packets.

thanks for the replies, they were a lighter brown than bourbons though and the random (as I remember) rings on both sides made them unique.

I keep trying to find a picture of an old box with these on it but no luck so far.

I remember there were some with dark brown biscuit (obviously chocolate flavour) with a white cream inside. They were the same shape as custard creams and sold in selection boxes. No idea whether they had rings on or not though. Not seen any sold separately.

There was also sometimes a pale one the same size as a custard cream but with an orange coloured and flavoured filling. They were also very nice.

Oooh, I remember them. I think they used to sell them in Weigh and Save (which has now gone from a lot of places). Mmm.

Did they have lots of raised rings on each side?
Those ones were caramalised biscuits with a filling, and they have a rich, almost burnt taste.
You can buy caramelised biscuits, but I don't think they have filling anymore. They're not in rectangles anymore either, but elongated ovals.

My whole post sounds like complex innuendo, sorry
And its probably not even the biscuit you meant

This ones in an individual pack, but is that the right colour?

I'm a child of the 90's and I remember those

I don't think I've seen them sold separately, but I remember them being in boxes of biscuits that you get at Christmas. They have different 'patterns' on them to custard creams. I remember coffee and orange flavours. You can probably still get them.
