Ofcom clears Jason's fecal matter comments

According to DS news.

Does concern me somewhat that one of the reasons for claiming the comment was acceptable was because most children would be unlikely to understand the meaning of the term faecal matter.

Do they think said children wouldn't ask?

Brilliant. Next week Jason calls Kieron a nauseating, effeminate autoeroticist. It's fine because Jason's cast as the nasty judge and most children won't know what he means...

Well it's just as well Harry Hill takes the p*ss out of Jason as obviously he's allowed to say whatever he likes, no matter who it offends because it's his "character".

It's not always what he says but the way he says it, with such venom.

Exactly what I thought the moment I read it.

Well thank god that Ofcom see sense. I Thought they would.

Faecal matter upsetting to children? lol. Please, I don't think so. Mention poo to most kids and they'll either find it funny or gross rather than upsetting.

Children have been bullied because of Gardiner's remarks - so Offcom got it wrong in this instance. The man should be removed - he is a menace in the worst sense of the word.

Sharron Davies' children. And when Sharron spoke out about that, what was Jason's response? "Get over it".

I'm sure you're right, there's no way children would be upset by what Jason said, however he is an adult and is supposed to behave like an adult not a 10 year old sniggering in the playground. Teaching children that it's ok to describe someone in public as resembling faecal matter is just not appropriate and OFCOM have basically dodged their responsibilities by hiding behind the choice of precise words used to make the analogy. If Jason had used a more widely recognised word would the decison have been any different? Although, possibly not, given that insulting someone in public seems to have become acceptable if it's addressed to a "celebrity" or is on a reality show.
Also very sad that attitudes now have sunk so low that anyone who questions rudeness or bad behaviour is automatically considered to have no sense of humour or to be stuffy or old fashioned.

Basically, it's not big, it's not clever, it's not funny and it's not cool to be rude!

I don't understand why whether children understand that fecal matter is poo is important.

If I had children, I'd hope that they either knew or had the intelligence and curiosity to ask.

They were bullied? As in systematically abused over a period? Or other children laughed then forgot it? There's a difference.

Trust me, children know what fecal matter is and find it highly offensive. Whereas poo, something they associate with babies.

Trust me - figure of speech
children know - My own children and their friends. It is not humanly possible to know all the children in the world. But then some people like to pick up on every little detail. This morning I had to have a gentle word with one of my own for being so horrible to another child. And you know what my own was able to reflect on her behaviour.

Lastly I dont think you are very funny at all.
