Yes, I remember defending Ray last year, who would have thought anyone would have to defend Ray? He was clearly the best yet some on here would say such petty things to put him down, things don't change.

I wasn't on Digital Spy last year, but I'm really surprised Ray got a lot of stick. I thought he was the best by a mile, and was never aware that he wasn't very popular on here. I suppose in a way its comforting knowing the same thing is happening with Hayley.

I liked Ray but I'm not keen on Hayley. She just comes across as way too desperate.

Specifically I didn't like that she only did the headbanger because she was afraid they'd give it to Daniella if she didn't.

But generally she just has a desperate/try too hard air about her performances. She makes me feel uneasy

Desperate is the name for Danielle, she has her partner living in her house, how much more desperate can you get than that?

There's always someone willing to bring the best down for no reason

I'm not a Daniella fan - but I think that's a bit unfair; surely it can be seen as offering hospitality to Matt who is a long way from home. Better for him to be part of a family atmosphere than cooped up alone in a soulless flat or hotel room.

Yes, but it does depend on which way you look at it, doesn't it, if it was Hayley, it would be desperate on this forum.

Well as someone mentioned it could just be that she is being hospitable

But if it is desperation thats inspiring her to give hospitality to Matt then at least she is managing to keep the desperate air out of her performances

As I have already said, it depends which way you want to look at it.

exactly. It is a matter of opinion which is why you like Hayley and I'm not so keen. It wouldn't do if we all agreed. It would be as dull as Gary Lucy's early performances

If Hayley had Dan living in her house, everybody on here would want to burn her at the stake. I really don't think 'Desperate' is a good word to describe Hayley. She is trying her best, and wants to do very well....but most of the people on here obviously thinks that's terrible...and she should only give 70% into every performance...because that's what the other contestants are doing. Ridiculous...

Ray, Suzanne and Chris Fountain always gave 100% but for me they never came across as trying too hard and over egging the pudding in the same way that Hayley does.

I liked her routine last week btw. It was for me the only time she hasn't over done it

Yes, I agree but it does look desperate when people feel the need to 'slag off' Hayley all the time and for such petty reasons just to make themselves feel good. Desperate and very sad IMO.

Ray had other criticisms thrown at him - cocky, overconfident, cheesy etc.

Suzanne was constantly described as desperate - and I don't thimk Chris escaped unscathed.

Come to think of it - all similar to the epithets being used to describe Hayley this year.

The only reason that people have petty excuses for slagging Hayley and Dan is because they can't think of any valid reasons. She tries hard, is talented at skating, tries hard, wants to put on a great show, tries hard, has a nice personality, tries hard and wants to do very well in the show.

But of course, we should actually hate her because 'Dan winks at the camera...BAD HAYLEY!!!!'

A touch of Deja Vu (did I spell this correctly)?

Its just people giving their critiques and saying that they're not very keen on her or her performances as they do for all the contestants

I've also said I'm not keen on Emily or Kieron in other threads and I used to find Gary Lucy unbearably dull

These forums are about voicing opinions positive or negative about the contestants. If all we did was praise them it would just be like one big appreciation thread

Not exactly. Rather to share my opinions with those who also find her performances irritating. And to discuss why we find them irritating

Also to give Hayley fans a chance to defend her if they wish.

Its debate. Thats why forums exist

Yeah....but many 'aggressive Hayley haters' don't give us fans a chance to defend her. They just go on about her being irritating.

Have you noticed that it's not her skating performance, ability or talent that people are discussing....but Hayley's personality ?? She is not a Big Brother contestant....she's a Dancing on Ice contestant !!!!!

No doubt there were some who didn't like Ray etc. But it doesn't mean their opinions are invalid. I liked Ray but even I found him a bit cocky at times so I could see where they were coming from.

I see criticisms of all the contestatnts. Most of which are pretty much true in part.
