Don't know if everyone's seen this or not, but I've been following Sharron's Twitter and thought I'd post her tweets from Sunday / yesterday as it's interesting to hear the other side of things:

just becuase i wanted to keep you properly informed. I was given the music by DoI i did not chose it. It was next weeks music apparently.

Sorry if i let any one down i just wanted to protect my shoulder and as an athlete i knew what it could do with out futher damage.

I was abit upset by the vt yesterday which was not a true reflection but hey that is tv.. i should know better and i'm not bitter just sad.

it certainly wasn't me.. i see it the same time you do for the first time just before i skate. They paint it the way they want to.

and i can promise you i did not pick the music and i volunteered to leave the show on the monday due to the shoulder problem.

Hmmmm. Interesting! I personally think Sharron got a raw deal from the producers from the beginning, painting her like the competitive sportswoman etc, but there you go! I'll miss Pav too, all 6' 3" of him... noooo don't go to Oz! Don't leave me! Lol

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for that, I'm not the biggest twitter fan, but this is certainly very intersting (particularly the bit about the music).

I think it was becoming obvious that she couldn't hack it and was looking forward to being voted out. I'm just puzzled as to why she signed up to do it in the first place!

To learn something new? For the experience? Who knows? I'm sure she didn't go in with the intention of creating a load of drama. I don't think it was a case of her not being able to 'hack it', when you're being belittled every week despite trying your best and your various injuries are griping at you it can't be much fun

She stikes me as a person who wants to be number 1 at whatever she does and if she can't be, then its easier to walk away.

Jason was obnoxious to her and there was no excuse for that, but her coldness didn't win her many fans either!

I take your point, but you only see what the producers want to to see with regards to the VTs and what have you. You're only seeing a 2 minute portion of the whole weeks worth of training, so it's easy to just take the parts you need and paint her as a demanding, cold perfectionist.

Also worth noting is that Pavel supported her completely and showed no signs of being disgruntled or put out by her decisions, and judging by some comments from his past partners like Ulrika I don't think he's the kind of person who suffers fools lightly.

I had a feeling she wanted to go. I don't think she went on there with the intention of leaving so soon. I believe the injuries must have re-surfaced and played havock with her body. Although swimming is extremely good for you, extreme competetive swimming as a sport can play havoc with some peoples limbs.

I know a chap who was training to be an olympic swimmer, when we were at school, but was very unlucky with the injuries, his body did not heal as quickly as some swimmers. He was the best swimmer in our borough. Sometimes he would be swimming and he would get this humungous cramp and he would not be able to do anything. He works for the local authority, but keeps up swimming, ironically for health reasons.

When I was horrible about Sharron, he actually put me right and he is not even a fan of Sharron or DOI. I dont know this as I have no experience, but my friend tells me that ex swimmers can suffer the same problems as ballet dancers. Sad.

I was puzzled as to why she signed up for it, especially the reputation for injuries the show is getting and that she had significant existing injuries which she must have known would get in the way...if she wanted to revive her career there are other shows she could have done with barely any chance of re-triggering existing injuries and gaining new ones.

The way it was portrayed on sunday did make her look very bad, and Chris's obviously put out facial expressions didn't help...thanks for posting that though, it gives another side to the whole thing

Interesting. what it shows to me is that no one except those involved know the whole story of what exactly happened.
