Thought it might be nice to have a thread related to the current contestants

Why is (____) your favourite? Obviously some people like the best technically, some people like performance, looks, personality, attitude, improvement etc.

Kieron is my favourite, because I think he comes across as lovely sweet guy; has a genuine natural chemistry with Brianne; tries some of the most techincally ambitious routines each week; gives great fun performances that stand out from the rest; can skate fast and with attitude; gives his all to every performance; and has improved significantly over the series, despite the judges consistently undermarking him. He adds some much-needed fun and excitement to DOI!

I want Emily to win. Because she is fit

Kieron and Daniella are my joint favourites. They are so enthusiastic (sp?) and seem to love what they are doing, and that comes out in their performances. They make me smile the whole way through their routines.

I don't have a favourite this year, but I would like to contribute anyway.

I realised that the reason for me liking a couple depends on the overall package of the couple. For instance, I would never have liked Todd, although he was a really lovely contestant. He was just not good enough on the ice, and to be fair, I don't think he tried particularly hard either. On the other hand I could never take to someone like Bonnie, Zoe or Suzanne either, sorry), because although they were clearly good, they just lacked something IMO (god knows what). I quite often like the couple that has some type of journey (e.g. Donal last year; Kierron this year), or people that I perceive as hard working and capable (e.g. Hayley and Daniella this year), or people with some ability and a sunny disposition (e.g. Mikey and Mel, and for instance Chris and Ola on SCD).

Sorry for the long post, but this is an interesting year for me as I don't have a favourite, and I can thus analyse my own preferences more objectively

I like Keiron, because he is not afraid to push himself and gives his all to a routine. Plus he has improved a lot and I like to see that.

Hayley because I think she clearly enjoys the experience, is brave and presents some beautiful performances.

Kieron because I don't think he's always given credit for what he achieves. I loathe the word journey but he has improved tremendously.

Gary - I find his skating very good and over the last couple of weeks he has learnt to emote more.

This is the first series where I don't really have a favourite.

I enjoy Hayley & Dan's performances most because for me, musical interpretation is just as important as the technical stuff, and no one comes close to Hayley in this department.

But I wouldn't vote for her and Dan out of principal (and I'm not sure I want them to win) because they've been close friends since childhood so that the connection between them was already there and this has made everything so much easier for them.

As far as I have a favourite, it's Danniella. Because she's nice, charming, good humoured, tries hard, and gives it her all which week by week is impressive.

Yes thats why I like Daniella the best too. I also feel that she has improved so much and is nipping at Hayleys heels now

She wasn't in my list when the show started for all sorts of reasons but I think she's surprised a lot of people in a positive way.

I like Keiron the best atm because he has difficult routines which he really does well at, he also has personality wise grown on me, also liking Daniella who I did not for one minute think I would, Mikey was my favourite at first but is not making much progress seems a likeable guy though. Gary is a bit bland but seems to be improving. Emily is improving bit by bit and doesn't seem so brattish. Haley is OK but don't like the performance style so much too much jerk and manic smiling that's why I really liked her the previous week when she did a different sort of style more graceful (which she's well capable of).

oooops missed Danny, I like him and I like Frankie but don't think they are a good team.

My favourite is Gary because I've enjoyed a lot of his performances (Love Week, I'm Yours & What About Now in particular) and think he has a fantastic chemistry with Maria. I also like how he's kind of shy and self conscious. A lot of people here think he's dull but Christopher Dean even said he's a different person in rehearsal. I hope his fun side starts coming out more. He's a strong skater & I enjoy the fluidity of his routines.

Plus he's so FIT.

But have they been in touch over the years and, if so, how often. They could just see each other occasionally.

I liked Gary's performance for the first time this week and didn't find it dull at all as I had previously. Slowly he seems to be loosening up a bit

I would find DOI uber-dull if Kieron wasn't there injecting some much needed energy and fun to the proceedings

Hayley is my favorite contestant because she is technically very good, always puts on incredible performances, tries her absolute best, has a great personality and is not afraid to push herself and try new things.

I'm glad. He's in danger of a skate off if he slips up so hope he keeps improving and going up in people's estimations.

I like Hayley because she is a happy smiley person, she is a natural iceskater and is enjoying the whole experience. She also takes criticism well and seems to be a very nice young lady.

I agree, I think she's silenced alot of her critics, she's brilliant.

My favourite at the moment is Kieron. He wasn't at the start but he has grown on me and I enjoy his routines and he does some very difficult skating with enthusiam and looks like he is having fun and enjoying the experience.

It was originally Daniella, which was a surprise to me as I didn't expect to like her but she seemed to be genuinely good at the skating and came across as a lovely person.

Mikey's my favourite,he's lovely & has a great personality.He has fun & enjoys himself.Hopefully he'll master the big lifts & stay in touch with the others.I'd love him to go far,he & Melaine are cute together
