Problems with Internet on Blackberry

I've had my blackberry for a few weeks now (Bold 9700) and since of yesterday I'm having difficulty accessing the internet. I'm not in a different place or anywhere with less connection, I'll be in my bedroom and it'll either take ages to load pages but get there eventually, or give me an error message saying there is a problem with the connection.

I can't think what's changed from a few days ago, I've tried taking out the battery in case that helped but no. Thoughts?

get opera mini 5 beta - it works really well on OS5. I have it on my 9700.

are you using wifi to connect or 3g? You know the BB browser goes via the BIS/BES, right?

My last phone was blackberry pearl and using the internet on that was a real pain. A lot of the time it was either really slow or didnt connect.

It helps to regularly clear out the cache on Blackberrys - they seem to get incredibly slow with even a little cache - clear it out and the browser speeds up dramatically.

You can normally tell it's getting slow as it hangs on 'Requesting...' and just takes forever to download the page.

On a Bold you should be able to press the Blackberry menu key, then go to > Options, then > Cache Operations, then just clear everything in there - history, content cache, pushed content and cookie cache.

If you then hit the back button on the keypad, it should process and clear the browser memory.

hmm that's odd, I have a 9700 and before that had an 8310 and both connected fine. I am hooked onto a BES and not an ISP BIS service though.
