Basically its something ive been interesting in hearing.

As a bassist im quite interested in creating a band that incorparates the primary elements of Hiphop/Rap with melodic/groove based hardrock possibly including synth keyboards and samples.

This type of music has been hinted at by famous bands such as Rage against the Machine and Faith No More but they have embraced far too much Metal and 'Industrial' rock into the mix and lost the classic groove.

Vocals 1 - Rap/Mc providing fast yet soulful vocals
Vocals 2 - Traditional singing

Guitar - Aiming to produce Cream/Jimi Hendrix tone and groove with elements of classic rock from the 1970's. Aim to compliment the hip/hop groove of vocals compared overpowering it in other bands

Bass - Primarily Funk/Slap style

Drums - Standard hardrock styles with elements of tribal

Keyboards - Provides syth harmonies to compliment the melodic nature of the guitar.

Samples/DJ/Turntables - Interesting sampling and Scratching .

Well, Im not so sure that the different styles will blend all that well, but give it a go and see, its worth a try and you could be on to something.

Yeah ive got quite a few of their early albums up to 75'. Im really looking to build on the traditional Rap/Rock structure rather just singing.

A few useful examples of what im trying to get across

You've described Urban Dance Squad practically down to a t: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_Oe9CqR8iQ

Im liking Urban Dance Squad and they do sum what I kinda looking for. I would only change the lead vocals for a singer with a lower register (perhaps ODB or Tupac) and less focus on Ska/ reggae etc.

I found some Blakroc on Youtube and its pretty good. Good stuff there
