So as I have never posted a single comment regarding Heather Mills, I find your post a little bit invalid.

I do except that everyone doesn't think Hayley is great. I don't except that they should be rude about her appearance which is what it all seems to be, They criticise every little thing about her over and over again
Yes, I do criticise other contestants but it usually is about their skating and I don't keep on about it day after day and week after week.

I completely agree with you. Of course they are.

BUT - people are NOT entitled to post such horrible comments about Hayley and not be asked to explain themselves....

I did not make this thread to ask "why people don't like Hayley'...I created this thread to ask "Why are people posting such horrible posts about Hayley when I can see no evidence of her being 'cocky, arrogant, smirky, grin like a beast, thinks she's better than everyone.'

The only 'PEOPLE' that I am referring to are the one's who post things about Hayley that is extremely harsh...and therefore ARE 'Hayley Haters.'

I think I even remember reading some posts in which people were referring to themselves as "ABH's" standing for "Anyone but Hayley"

Oh come on icedragon, you are now saying things that haven't been said by Hayley supporters. Noone has told you that you must like Hayley, just asking why some of you keep criticising her and her appearance every day, week in week out. In fact, some can be quite nasty about her which really isn't necessary.

And this is the exact reason why I created this thread in the first place.

And I actually think she's lovely...really beautiful.

I never singled anyone out or said that you bad mouthed Heather. You asked for someone to name contestant who the forum has given a harder time to then Hayley so I gave Heather as an example.

In the main, yes, and it's not really a big deal to me, but labelling other FMs 'haters' would definitely be deemed unacceptable, telling people who don't share your views to 'grow up' etc is, at best, borderline unacceptable, and making numerous posts that are about other FMs rather than about DOI might well be regarded as off topic.

Whilst we are talking about off topic, how come threads in this forum end up with 'slagging' Hayley off even though the thread is not about her? I don't see anyone complaining about that.

I think it's perfectly acceptable to tell other FM's to grow up....especially if they are posting thing like "Hayley's nose annoys me...that's why I don't like her" or "She has such a goofy grin" or "Hope she falls flat on her face..that will wipe the smile from it"

It annoys me when anyones fans does it TBH. But as this thread is about Hayley I only mentioned Hayleys. It even annoys me when I see people who support the same person as myself do it.

A few FM's have said that they cannot connect with H & D's performances and I feel exactly the same.

I can't put my finger on it because I like Hayley & I like Dan (but which is better?... there's only one way to find out.... oop's sorry, wrong show ), i can see that Hayley's skating ability is very good & she's a great dancer, the routines are very polished and well practiced but despite all this I never look forward to watching them and i'm always left feeling a bit 'so what'. It's a shame and I don't know why .

I suppose the crux of the matter is that others, like Kieron & Danniella, make me smile whereas Hayley's performances seem a bit like skating-by-numbers.

It is very possible to be warned or banned for telling a forum member to "grow up". However, sometimes the mods are stricter than they are at other times (for instance if a fan war is disrupting thread after thread), and of course it depends on whether anyone alerts.


You may think it, but if you think it's allowed in this forum, you're wrong. We are supposed to treat other forum-members with respect at all times (even if we think they don't deserve it); but we do not have to be nice and respectful about contestants in shows.

Personaly I dont like or dislike Hayley as such there's just some gut instict I have about her cant explain really.

Unless you actually know a person then you cant really comment on what they are really like in person. She may be totally different away from the cameras.

I have actually met her briefly but not for long enough to decide one way or another about her, she seemed nice enough when Dan introduced her and posed quite happily for pictures although she did get a bit short with some young lads that were trying to muscle in and told them that they'd already had pics and would have to wait if they wanted more she then waited to see that the pics had turned out ok before going on to deal with them.

No I'm not saying things that haven't been said which is why I put (in so many words ) or I could have put 'words to that effect' which may have made my point clearer.

The posts may not be directed at me personally but I do find it annoying to read people saying things like 'if (I) don't like Hayley (I) must think Chris and Jayne are liars (which someone posted) and the overall tone of your posts or maybe Gazb's appears to be that because you (he) thinks she's fabulous we should all think that.

I do find that puts me even more off someone I just really can't take to.

Plus to be honest the celebs put themselves out there in the fulll knowledge that any show like this hinges as much on personality/looks/whatever as anything they actually do.

If they take the money then they have to accept the criticisms. Surely anyone who has been to stage school and acting should be able to cope with the knockbacks and with people finding their face just doesn't fit so if she can't take it she's in the wrong business. This may feel more personal as they are out there as themselves but it's still a job and one they took knowingly.

I also feel the criticism Hayley gets on here is unfair and uncalled for - she seems lovely to me.

But this isn't Celebrity Big Brother It's an ice-skating show, it's supposed to be about the skating.
If someone says they don't like Hayley because she doesn't do enough solo skating, at least that is pointing out about the skating not her appearance or personality.
That is why I believe most of the people knocking her on this forum are doing so because she is at the top of the leader board at the moment and beating their own favourites. The same thing happened with Ray.
I believe people criticise her appearance because they cannot criticise her skating.
