The main reason it was better tonight was probably because they focused on more than the usual 4 or so characters.. That way it wasn't so heavy. Even though it was a funeral..

Tonights episode was very sad, and some good acting by cast members, its good to see eastenders still has it in it to produce some good, decent TV. i hope this means it will be back on form soon.

It was very good till they started talking about Mark being a good looking child ?????

A few words from Dr Legg would have been apprpopriate.

What the hell happened to the long list of names they were planning on bringing back for the funeral? I saw Dr Legg

I guess that was just a rumour. I thought tonights episode was really good and proved my point that EE is on the way back up. There was a good mixture of storyline aswell, flipping from Mark's funeral to Kat and Alfie at the Vic an then the litlte bit of Janine and Laura. Would liked to have seen more old faces at the funeral though, still was decent enough.

I thought it was a pretty poor "send off" episode and the show is still nowhere near the quality it was, out of all the years his been on the show they coulda had a few more peeps show there faces or atleast mention a few more, the only "mate" who showed up was dr legg?
From what I saw, and I've not been paying that much attention *admitted* he got loads of flowers but hardly any of the market traders showed there faces..chelle flat out refused to go because she wanted to remember him the way he was? slight cop out...for such an "icon" character as he was, being a fowler and all it just came across well..abit crap..I'll admit I got abit emotional so it wasn't half bad, but that was ruined when I couldnt help but have a laugh at the letter at the end with the "look he even signed it himself" bit where they had to make it obvious he was dying with the scrawled "IiIIiI LOOove *cough* *gag* you" blah blah etc, for some reason it reminded me of the lord of the rings bit in the dwarfen mines, where there reading similar death scrawl maybe I'm just sick

Oh, you never fail to put a smile on my face . I cant watch vintage Enders at the moment just in case he turns up - even though the legend that is Roberta Taylor is also around .

I was watching the funeral and imagining the funeral of one G****** K***. One box, one vicar in a hurry with other things to do, and a gravedigger, doffing his flat cap in "tribute" to someone he never met.

I was also pondering the causes of his possible death, and they got more and more painful and elaborate as I went on, y'know, woodchippers, mincers, boiling in acid, that kinda stuff .

But seeing Jim Carver get one over on him (permanently) would be pretty durned acceptable too. I'm sorry, but anyone who harms my JimJim has me to answer to. And he's almost killed him twice.

So he'd better keep looking over his shoulder...

It was mentioned that Mark went to see Michelle in the US, before he died, but he was HIV+ so wouldn't have been allowed in.

He couldn't have because when Steve Owen was killed, at the same time Lisa and Mel were fleeing to the airport on their way to a new life in the US. The reason Phil found out about their plans was Mark watched Lisa leave him behind, knowing he could never go to America with HIV. He went to the Vic in a rage and told Phil. Dats how Phil ended up on the car chase dat killed Steve
