I think what will happen is...
Todd will start a big affair with karl. But then the gay nurse (karl) will go back-packing in oz. Then on Todd's stag night he'll come back and join the lads, and the groom to be be will end up back at karls. Then the next morning karl will tell him he only came back to 'collect him', and Todd and Karl go to australia together...

Todd is doing his duties as a night porter at the hospital. He goes into a room which is full of bottles. as he is dusting, he accidently drops a bottle which smashes. The bottle turns out to be a deadly virus which ends up sweeping the street. The websters, nick, kirk, dev, charlie, bev, and Maria are all killed by the bug. Known he was responsible, todd decides to run away for a while in order to "let the dust settle" as it were.

Although shorly if he knocked over the bottle containing the virus he would be the first to get it, although I like the list so...........

To be fair, AIDS is a serious issue with gay men and I know he isnt going to be killed off, but its a believable storyline.

....but it's all so cruel. He's far too cute to be written out. More steamy scenes is what we want.
When are the Corrie wrters going to realise that its huge gay following wants some satisfaction?
Write Todd out? never!

how can it be believable that someone would be dead in six months, even before medication was around people would have 3-5 at least before becoming full blown, and i know people who've had it for more than ten years and still no medication.

AIDS is a serious issue for any sexually active person with half a brain, gay or not.

Oh come on, get a life and an education.

Yeah it's so believable that someone could contract, find out they have full blown AIDS, then die from it in 6 months! Yeah sounds like a winner to me!!!

I do quite like the idea of Todd grabbing a rucksack and just taking himself off, backpacking around the world, to find out exactly what he wants to be, without all the outside pressure from Sarah, Eileen, Karl etc.

When I said a beliveable storyline I meant contracting AIDS, not dying from it.

What a stupid thing to say. Given Todd's character is it really likely that he'd have unprotected sex with various men so that he'd get AID's?

Prejudice like yours makes our lives worse.

He could have unprotected sex by accident and contract the disease, it happens with gay AND straight people.

Its believable because it happens in real life, and no, not because he's gay, because he's young and unexperienced.

no-one is suggesting you are, its a complex issue that hits a raw nerve with people and i'd have hoped corrie would never be interested in stereotypical sensationalism

plus the story has been done well by EastEnders - they just mucked it up very very badly at the end

Can I ask that please gets back on topic. I know this is a sensitive issue but it is off topic in this forum. Thanks a lot.

Beth.
