If she was that unhappy with it she should have said something during the Monday session to Jayne and Chris and not just at the beginning.
If she was that unhappy with the choreography due to the shoulder and back surely she would not have kept the majority of it like she and Pav have said they did.

It just doesn't make sense to me why the speed of the music should hurt her shoulder.

I think she obviously did what was best for her/what she liked whether it pushed her or not is another question and with no bad intentions towards Jayne and Chris, i just think it would have been better, if she had been more open with J&C during training.

Let's face it both Chris and Jayne have skated with injuries as bad as, if not sometimes worse than Sharron's either for the show or even in competition. Chris skated with a fractured leg when they won Gold in 1981. Chris skated with a bad shoulder in the DOI Xmas special which was operated on less than a week later. We don't even know if Sharron's shoulder needs an operation. She had an MRI on it yesterday.”

Chris and Jayne are PROFESSIONAL skaters with years of experience where Sharron is not. Perhaps she should have been more diplomatic with them but I do remember her saying often on the VT we saw on Sunday that she could not do the routine so fast and had problems but everyone seemed to ignore her. Have you ever been in a situation where somebody will just NOT LISTEN and keeps telling you.....YOU CAN DO IT.....when you know you cannot!! It can quickly get out of hand and perhaps sometimes in frustration you do or say the wrong thing.

You also seem to be saying the speed can't really be a problem. You generously concede that Sharron might really believe it was a problem, but you think it can't really be true, even though Sharron has experienced the difference between slow and fast routines herself.”

I have a rather nasty shoulder injury, and in my case I can say quite definitely that arm movements which I perform with relative ease if I do them slowly become extremely painful if I try to move quickly.

I do not know what type of injury Sharon has, but I can well believe that speed might have quite a severe impact and perhaps prolong the injury.

She said that it was her shoulder in the session but T&D then changed it and tried to adapt the routine to accomodate the injury.
As T&D thought that Sharron was ok with it at the end then they must have done it well especially if they kept most of the choreography.

I have had quite a few people telling me i can do something when i'm adamant that i can't but do you know what i tried it and found that they were right and that i could do but it just seems like Sharron was unwilling to try.

After busting his own shoulder during the 2008 Christmas special, and having to have surgery on it, I would have thought Christopher Dean would have been more sympathetic to Sharron Davies' concerns about exacerbating her own shoulder condition.

The man is drunk with his own power. For years the press and media has been saying how great he is and now he believes his own publicity and "appears" to be power crazy. He is not God - he is not the only person to have won a medal at the Olympics though the way he carries on expecting people to kow tow and curtsey to him you would think he was. He was a successful athlete who got to the top by stamping on other people to achieve his own ends. I would have thought he would be the most difficult person to work with as he is hypercritical and demands perfection. Unfortunately the world is not as perfect as Christopher Dean.

He certainly isn't the "nice" man he pretends to be and showed no empathy for Sharron and her needs and as a sportsman you would have thought he would have understood completely about exacerbating an old injury..

The most telling thing i found in all of this was Sharrons reaction to Emma Bunton questioning her competitiveness. She spoke about it in some depth on her blog. Since i was 8 yadar yadar yadar... Its partly the reason i slated her attitude earlier displayed in her blog, for those that were wondering. She states all of her credentials in one breath and then questions the competitveness needed on the show in the other. It came across fairly condesending to the others taking it seriously imo. Especially since she did show competitveness, constantly talking about her marks, week target etc She just did the typical, unsportsmenship "It was just abit of fun" thing once she was booted off. Plus the "friend" or whoever it was, pathetic! I mean to state she was taking some kind of "high road" by not sinking to Jasons level, by not bad mouthing, only to have an extra section of the blog dedicated to just that....only done by some "friend" Ugh! Give over!

I just dont buy all of this shoulder rubbish now. Ive had a shoulder injury (okay not to the extent of her's) which is proberly why i think she did take the easy option just as CD stated. Whether teh song is up tempo or not, it wouldnt have greatly mattered. Slow songs with slower transitions wouldnt have really effected the pressure still being applied. My injury was nowhere near as bad as her is now, and i couldnt have found comfort in doing slower movements. Like i said, it would still hurt. Plus was she planning on doing slower songs for the remainder of the series? I only ask because the way she talks about her shoulder, it wasnt healing anytime soon was it?! Either she was a stroppy madam who played on her injury to get what she wanted, or she should have walked with her injury if it was as painful as she said. The excuses and sympathy resulting from the injury, obviously grated on the general public as much as me.

Now she's left, i doubt her attitude will be missed. At all!

No she didn't actually. In her earlier blogs, she already stated that this is for fun, how much she is looking forward to the training and how great it is to learn a new skill. At no point did she say before she was booted off, that she would win this or that she is competitive. With regards to no respect for the other competitors: read her blog and you will see that from the beginning she has nothing but respect for them.

By the way, I don't care how people approach this, if for fun or because they are competitive, although people seem to get criticised for either. I think Sharron and Pavel were very aware that their time on the show was limited.

What sympathy would that be?

Re the second emboldened sentence, I could say the same about a certain panel member.

I can't claim to speak for the 'general public' as you do, but I do feel that many on here would put the flags out on that happy day. it is A DOI forum and the general consensus seems to be that Jason's attitude is beyond the pale. Not so much a whiter shade of pale, either...

However, we are in agreement about that one.
