I think I'd much prefer to watch your living room table than the doc....lol !!!

I'm enjoying this series much more than last year. If it hadn't been for Donal I think I would have switched off last year. I like all the contestants left, I think they all bring something to the show. I like some more than others but I genuinely don't know who I will be voting for come the final and I love that.

No contestant has annoyed me this series, even to my surprise Heather Mills. Last year I don't know how my TV survived intact with Zoe (people complain about Hayley's grin but Zoe's was a million times worse) and Coleen on the show.

Have to agree with those who say that series 2 & 3 were the best though.

He had a strong fanbase and he improved. He improved though from poor to average and he was totally outclassed in the final. It would have been ridiculous if he won over Ray and him staying on destroyed about the only competition there was in the series - for which girl should have been second. Its difficult to think of a worse set up for a final and it comes after they managed a really tight competition in the previous years, so it showed. In improvement terms its far from clear that poor to average is a harder trip than Jessica making it from quite good to good. - indeed if Todd had stayed longer he might have journeyed even further from not being able to stand up to actually being able to cross the ring without falling over.

Most reality TV shows do this though - they get longer and longer as someone sees a cheap way of filling the schedules and they end up trying to sustain a story too long or have to create new ones halfway through. Some shows I think get longer as they have to put spare good performers in because the public vote early on tends to go to the worst candidates and good people go instead. At least on DOI , if they stay fit and don't wear out, the longer the series the better some people may be by the end - though you may be right its too much?

Hayley may be catchable by Daniella - though I agree Mikey may have a bigger vote even if he gets no better. Got a feeling they would have done better not to have used Ray last year and used some of this year's younger boys and to have used Daniella's potential when she was younger. Ray now makes all the males who come after him look weak and underlines their problem in finding good ones. They have a danger that Hayley may prove this year's Ray and give them two years when they could only find one contender - or even worse lose to some plodder for no reason at all. An awful lot may hang on whether Daniela can get up there and make it a competition - hopefully without them making it look one when it actually still isn't. .

You are very hopeful, aren't you. With regards to Donal last, I started to support Donal after his Blues Brother routine, not because he was hot, but because he was on a journey. However, I still thought Ray was absolutely amazing (and a worthy winner), I still loved Jessica and I was looking forward to all their performances. To be fair, it would have been better, if they could all have danced the bolero on the night.

I never understand people who, because they have a favourite (particularly as favourite does not mean the best anyway), cannot see the merit of other maybe even better people.

Yeah. Your original post is a lot more full of reasons you're not interested, which as I said, discussed individually or even as a group of reasons would be fine. But not under the banner of 'I'm bored with DOI'.

And I don't generally post on threads like these. I did on this one because I am SO fed up of seeing threads with this kind of title.

Fair enough maybe the thread title could have been worded slightly differently but judging by the amount of posts most people are agreeing with me that this years show is not as enjoyable as previous years which is what I was interested in hearing.

Its the Quality of Stars is the issue.

I feel the same way this year. I do still enjoy the show, and i will continue to watch. But last year i used to get really excited when i knew it was coming on. I would make sure i was sat, waiting for the show to start with a glass of wine and some popcorn.

Now - i will gladly wander off and have a bath mid way through.

There are a few things that annoy me a little. The amount of adverts is the main thing as you can really get into it. The fact that Phillip is still reading off the same script.

Plus, the fact that the judges seem to competing amongst themselves this year. They are doing one upmanship on who can be the cruel judge this year. And Robin Cousins, who is the most qualified there, can barely get a word in.

He's so good he's a commentator for the Olympics fer crying out loud! Let him do some ACTUAL critiquing rather than watch the other lads (and that Bunton creature) squabbling over airtime!

I'm inclined to agree....I think there is a case for only having 3 judges, Robin, another skating judge and 1 performance judge (Michael Ball would be my choice after his guest appearance) none of whom are given any "role" to play. I'd make sure the skating judges aren't involved in any of the celebs training to try and avoid the issues we get with judging based on who the trainers are finding it easiest to work with.
I'd then let the judges have a little more time to critique properly and perhaps we would end up with more constructive comments and fewer "sound bites".

Deffo would like to see more pro routines - also would be quite a novelty to see Karen and Nicky do a turn!

He was great, and I wasn't a big Michael Ball fan!

Obviously if you post a thread like this, the people who don't like this years' show are going to post in it. That doesn't mean they are 'most people'.

Personally, I think this year is far better than last year's yawn-fest, which might as well have been called 'Ray Quinn on Ice'.

More pro routines would be great though!

Not necessarily, some people might post in it, because they find the discussion interesting. I only dislike threads like this if the person starting it is argumentative and controversial (which I don't think the OP is). I think after such a long time, a programme can be become a bit laboured (don't get me wrong I still like it). However, I find myself agreeing with a lot of the points that have been made:

Less judges, but give everyone the time to speak properly (and less controversial, more constructive judges). Definitely no Emma Bunton next year.

Less couples, and more pro routines.

Less fabricated drama (Phil's shouting, "the last person to go through will be announced after the break, "faeces gate" etc.)

DEFINITELY LESS ADVERTS.

It's ITV - I really wouldn't get your hopes up about that one!

Unfortunately they pay the bills and the number of ads seems to increase with the popularity of the show.... X Factor is positively ridiculous, they stop every other sentence for another break!

And whilst we're on changes, I just have to agree with whoever said get rid of the "and the final couple skating next week .....will find out after the break". Seriously, do they think our attention span/memory is so bad that it's a surprise to us every week when they do that??

I used to really look forward to watching DOI. Not so much now. Now I'd rather record it and watch it all the next day so I can skip the adverts. Don't like the blatant favouritism of Hayley&Daniel either. :yawn:

Yep it's a pet hate of mine as well.

They really should try mixing it up every once in a while. Also while we are on pet hates for the show does anyone else think that when the winner is eventually named in the final that its is abit bad they never say the professional partners name only the celebrity, its not as though the celebrity has won the show by themselves they wouldn’t have got there without the pros help.
