The Touch is light years ahead of the original - head to an Apple store to have a play with one.
Main reasons:
very thin indeed
intuitive touch screen interface
greater batter life
watch movies
App store - thousands of games etc to explore
built-in speaker
wi-fi compatible - use to browse web and email
services like tvcatchup turn in into a small tv (when wi-fi)

An 8GB PSP presumably means an old PSP with an 8GB Memory Stick (as PSPs do not have a large amount of internal flash storage), and a 20GB original iPod is about seven years old. The total value of those combined doesn't even come close to that of the cheapest 1st gen iPod touch 8GB. There's no way I would do that trade.
