Nobody can say that doesn't sound good! Her voice is still good, I think she's being overworked now so her voice is deteriotating but it's still there.

Oh and i'm not a deluded fan, I can acknowledge when she sings badly.

Thoughts?

Gradually she might get her 'My Love Is Your Love' voice back. Loads of people say the bodyguard was her prime, but a lot of the songs came across as vocal exercises.

She sings R&B songs with a lot more bite.

To be fair, apparantly she did similar mini comebacks during most of the last year as well

There are a few standout moments like at 3:28 but for the most part, it's crap. In the 7 odd minutes, there's about 20-30 seconds of decent vocals and the rest is breathless talking or sandpaper-rough shouting.

Her voice isn't still there, it's there in dribs and drabs but then she stops, gets breathless or goes out of tune. She can't even maintain a decent standard of singing throughout one song, God knows why she's on a world tour. Way too much to ask of her.

The higher notes between 1.10 and 1.40 are beautiful imo and very clear. Her voice could be so much better if she wasn't doing a world tour, doing a concert every couple of days is making the voice bad again. I wish she had waited until the next album to tour, at the end of last year her voice was brilliant.

Ooh, someone being sarcastic, that's exactly what this thread needs.

Her voice is still very fragile, she has only been singing the odd song here and there since her comeback yet they expect her to sing 15 songs every few nights over about 6 months. She's not ready. I suppose at least she doesn't mime like some of other big artists.

IMO, her prime was her voice in the 80's.

Then they shouldnt be charging Australians the "she's ready" $165 ticket price.
thats far more offensive than my sarcasm !

This thread isn't titled "Are Whitney's tour prices correct?", it's about her singing ability in the clip posted above.

in yor very first post you stated "you can acknowledge when she sings badly". and yet you defend her at every turn despite the fact that she is making a complete fool of herself and taking her paying audence for total fools this week in Australia.
The only reason you opened this thread is for people to say "Whitney is still fantastic" - sadly for you..she isnt.

Back in 1985 I bought her single "you give good love" and that was way before the megastardom hit - i have every album she made until the newest one - So I'm not just on here to be shitty about her .
She has squandered her talent, and will never be the live singer she once was,no matter how much they hide it in the studio sessions.......

See she sounded really fresh, but it didn't feel like she sang as a recording artist until 'I'm Your Baby Tonight'.

She used to be a good singer,
She ruined her life with drugs.

Firstly, I can acknowledge when she sings badly. I was the first to say her Good Morning America performance was crap last year but I genuinely believe her voice, because of practice over the last few months, has improved. Not to the level it once was but it has improved.

Secondly, how do we know if it was her idea to tour? She may not have wanted to but I guess we might never know. I don't want her to tour, she obviously isn't ready.

Thirdly, I didn't just open this thread because I wanted people to praise her. I was going through all the old posts on a different website and saw this video and thought people on here might want to watch it. I wanted people's opinions, I was hoping for constructive criticism not sarcasm.

Lastly, I don't think she'll ever be a touring artist again but she has put in some respectable tv/awards performances over the last 6 months.
