I had 7 programmes on record tonight, 5 on series link and 2 extras. Not 1 single programme was recorded. I was watching the Olympics before bed and checked my recordings before switching off while 2 of the series linked should have been recording. The red symbol was against both programmes on the guide button but nothing was being recorded. Any suggestions?

No suggestions but mine failed to record the third part of CSI trilogy and hasn't recorded Eastenders which (no great loss) since Tuesday, both were on series link. On taking out of standby last night The front panel scrolled the name of the channel then went totally blank. There was no picture or sound either. This occured for every TV Channel. I've not seen this happen before.

Re-booting via the power switch on back cured it. My list of scheduled recordings is still there, so be interesting to see if it behaves tonight.

Silly question: is the disk full?

I can confirm that I too have missed recordings. This has only happened in the last month or so.

They are all on channel 5 and occasionally the machine is still on the following morning.

I do not use series link and start up one minute early, finishing at the correct time.

I get my signal from the main Blackhill transmitter.

My disc drive is only half full and I have done all the usual resets etc.

No not a silly question but it's not even close to being full. As an update I've just tried to record a couple of programmes and it worked fine. This is what is so annoying, when it works it's great it's just so unreliable. I just wish I'd found this forum before purchasing a Humax.

I appreciate this a Humax forum but can anyone advise me on a good reliable easy to use PVR that really works. I don't mind what it costs as long as it works. Thanks

The fact that the box marked the faulty recordings suggests that everything was working but the recording was not possible. Have you considered the possibility of an overnight transmitter fault?

I don't think that's what the OP meant.
...The red symbol was against both programmes on the guide button...
I take this as meaning flagged in the EPG, not in the recordings (available for play) list.

Yes they were flagged on the epg. I actually watched part of one of the programmes live and had been watching the tv earlier so there were no transmitter problems.

I have the same problem with a 9200. Trying to record with series link...
recording shows in EPG with little red box thing...
recording not there at programme.

I seems to favour this behaviour with eastenders et al. Maybe its just got really smart AI

Grrrr Sherlock failed to record which I didn't notice until 10 mins in. It still didn't start to record when I tuned to BBC1 either so had to manually press record.
So now it looks like I will have to catch the first 10mins on iplayer on Wii then watch the rest on the Hummy.
Thank goodness for iplayer is all I can say.

Mine started recording at 20.48 also. First episode did not record at all. Set up on series link on both hummys so not a fault with the machine...or a full disk!

Mine didn't start on time either Now watching it on iplayer, 13 minutes in and still not caught up, I thought it would just be the first five minutes or so that were missed

Sherlock was started twenty minutes late on my 9200 v.23 received from Cyrstal Palace. Obviously a BBC cock-up.

Yep, Sherlock (on SL) didn't record on time on my 9200 on Emley Moor. I manually pressed record and then after about 10 minutes I got the red symbol thingy in the recordings list. The manually recorded one recorded OK.

Same here on Winter Hill/Pendle Forest, single programme recording.

Didn't notice until it flashed up on the screen while I was watching athletics.

Monumental BBC cock-up! Standards are slipping same as their news website abomination.

Ah ha so most definitely not just me then. I had Sherlock on the series link from the first episode as did my parents and neither of us had it recorded.

I got a phone call ten minutes in asking if mine was recording, so they've missed the first few minutes and I've missed the first ten after recording manually.

Did anyone else note that it appeared in the recording list anyway with the "no folder" symbol? When activated it states that it couldn't record due to a scheduling conflict, which there most definitely wasn't.

Could it be the change in start time from 9 to 8:30 that threw the Hummy off or could it be that and a combination of the BBC not sending the 'start' signal?

Yes I had this also.
I would say it's too much of a coincidence for it to be a hummy problem unless some dodgy data only affected Humax PVRs.

It showed in the recording schedule as 20:30 - 22:00 but waht bothers me slightly is that there seesm to be no furore on other PVR fora on Digital Spy as far as I can see. You'd think they'd all be up in arms unless Humax is the only one with AR

I can try this tonight, but what happens if you use the epg to set a programme then schedule the same one manually? Do you get a conflict message?

Me too, Sherlock only started recording at 20:48 (Crystal Palace). I also lost Prison break 2 weekends ago it managed to skip all the episodes of the night (whilst I was away), but was fine the next week (when I was back)
