Probably a very stupid question but is it possible to withdraw any money from the Halifax in-branch without my card? Like a print-off of my statement + my pin number? Or is there any other way?

Thanks

usually you can go in with some form of ID, proof of the account, and withdraw money over the counter. I've done it at HBOS when waiting for a replacement card to be sent out.

Do yo have a cheque book with the account? With a bank you can write a cheque payable to cash and if you present it in your own branch you don't need a card, not sure whether Halifax work the same way though.

In the Halifax you don't usually cash a cheque, you just sign a withdrawal slip. Take your ID in with you, driving licence is best

What do you want? Cash, statement or pin number?
Cash- with ID there shouldn't be a problem
Statement- as above, but they may charge you for a full statement, don't tink they can do a quick print
Pin- branches don't hold your pin, it gets send to you in the post.

You can also do it by answering some security questions if you don't have id on you. They'll ask you things like how much is your direct debit to so and so or, what transactions have you done in the last few days, mother's maiden name etc.

I know LloydsTSB have your signature stored electronically and appears on the cashiers terminal so I assume all banks have this ability.

I used to work as a bank cashier and spent half my time asking people questions so they could get their money because theye didn't have any card, cheque or id.

For future reference, you don't give anybody your PIN, ever, including any bank staff .

Worthy of a repeat - excellent advice. No one - ever - needs to know your PIN except YOU.
