Hey, for a limited time there is a more nuts version of Snickers available which has 10% more nuts, now the cynic in me says aren't these just how Snickers used to be anyway?

Ha, anyone agree?

snickers arent how they used to be

they've all been surreptitiously reduced in size

Yeah I agree - they used to be a lot bigger. Even the stand alone bars are really small.

that's the kind of things companies do when they are about to change something to cut costs.

Lucozade always used to be 500ml bottles, then the 500ml bottles started appearing saying "33% extra free", what it actually meant was the bottle size had reduced (to something like 384ml) and they were giving the extra for free.

It stayed that way for around a year, then the 33% offer vanished and you were left with 384ml bottles as the standard size, they then launched 500ml bottles a while later for more money.

Topic is also virtually devoid of nuts.

Where once there was a hazlenut in every bite there is now barely one in every bar.

LOL - Wasn't there an even bigger one too? Like 'mega king size' or something? I remember it - The good old days before 'Super size me' and the 'health invastion' crisis.

I still miss those supersize drinks from Maccy D's

Neither - It's got be a 'boost' for me, or a good old 'double decker' (which doesn't appear to have changed it's packaging since it;s creation )

Double Deckers used to be in orange foil with blue lettering. I used to have one every breaktime at junior school (I was fat!)

Do you remember when Waggon Wheels really were,? they have gradually shrunk to the size of wheelbarrow wheels in comparison.

Used to have a serious Snickers, Topic and Double Decker obsession (not all at the same time...I paced myself)

Does seem like there has been less nuts in a Snickers lately though.

Wasn't there an "Emperor" size, or did I dream that one.

Mars (Mars, Snickers, Milky Way, Bounty etc) used to be one of my clients, - we'd go to the factory in Slough every week, and on leaving, there were bags of chocolate straight from the production line. - It's even softer and yummier than anything that makes it to the shelves....

Statistically a Snickers with 10% more nuts can only mean that you get one extra peanut half per bar.
But in real life, seeing as it's not as if they are put in by hand and it's all done on a mechanised production line, some bars won't even have that.
